They all sound good there is no winner, pick any one of them shut up and get to work. a better question is how good is the song you are mixing? if the song and tracking sucks they won't help. If you have a well recorded song download some free plug ins they will do just fine if you know what you are doing

All sound fine My preference is always BX you can hear more of the beater it's crazy but every time I look for these comparison videos I prefer the sound of the BX and Plugin Alliance products

I liked UAD > Waves on Kick, UAD > Slate on Snare. Didn't much like BX. Thanks for the video! ☺

I think with some tweaking we could really match them up close. Amazing how good plugins sound today. My opinion has always been that I believe 95% of all of us working in the box have never used or heard the Console in person. Cheers I have them all actually Might be trimming it down soon because it can be a distraction at times.

CPU & Latency is a key factor for me (ss well as sound of course). From experience, this is were the Waves wins for me. Brainworx uses more CPU & for a channel strip with many instances.. it adds up

I have the opposite experience with the Waves EV2. Its a CPU hog for me. The old Waves SSL strip was much better in that regard.

really cool method of using nulling to keep a control. I thought the best sounding one is UAD. I hear that it's grabbing the most, and keeping it focused in a particular low mid frequency spectrum as well vs inconsistent peaking. The slate one grabs pretty hard but the way it responds to frequencies is all out of whack IMO, it sounds really cheap and honky in the mids on both kick and snare. Waves seems to tighten the low end up a lot just not as pronounced grab as the UAD. Brainworx doesn't sound like it compresses well enough, still sounds under processed, definitely last place for me.

All so similar. All sound like an emulation of the classic SSL comp. Will the use of one over another make the song a "hit" or not? Doubtful in my mind. Marketing is King eh ;-)....

Waves is my least favorite, Brainworx seems aggressive, Slate and UAD seem to be the "true" emulation sound imo

Waves = worst overall. No surprises there. I personally liked the Bx vibe.
