I decided to be insane and make this for my polish girlfriend and her mother. I roughly followed the steps in the recipe and ignored literally every measurement. I didn’t even have time to taste test it….. turns out my girlfriend and her mother loved it and were genuinely impressed. I feel like I got the highest praise a human can get today.

There is a surprising amount of similarities between polish and italian cuisines, and to my knowledge neither is inspired by one another. For example: we have a dish called "kopytka", which is ALMOST the same when it comes to ingredients and preparation as gnocchi. As to the dish from the video, it has MANY variants. There are sweet versions, more neutral tasking versions, I've even seen some savory versions too. Also, most people nowadays make this using normal semolina pasta, in a shape of really small squares that look like a minature lasagna.

@@RiskOfBaer Neat! Also, if I recall correctly, Poland and Italy have a very long history together -- in fact, their national anthems mention each other

Watching this while eating some Mákos Guba, which is basically... take some crescent-shaped milk-based bread of some kind Cut them into nice slices Mix milk and vanilla sugar, put it on the stove, heat it up Douse the bread slices in the sugary milk Put some poppy seeds and powdered sugar on it Mix until homogenous Wait for like an hour Tada! If you want traditional, you can also put this mixture in the oven until it gets somewhat brown. Love from Hungary!

each and every one of Boris' videos give off a chaotic neutral vibe in my opinion, and that is something i love about this channel. little sidenote, that "idiota!" at the beginning sounded incredibly good, you have a talent, ever thought of learning Italian?

I'm hungarian and poppy seed pasta is one of my faves 🤤 Cherry & Poppy seed strudel is heavenly 👌 Also next the original walnut zserbó, poppy seed zserbó is a must try.. And lastly, poppy seed bejgli is superior to the walnut one... Come fight me!
