There is a surprising amount of similarities between polish and italian cuisines, and to my knowledge neither is inspired by one another. For example: we have a dish called "kopytka", which is ALMOST the same when it comes to ingredients and preparation as gnocchi. As to the dish from the video, it has MANY variants. There are sweet versions, more neutral tasking versions, I've even seen some savory versions too. Also, most people nowadays make this using normal semolina pasta, in a shape of really small squares that look like a minature lasagna.
