No no no no no, you got it all wrong (Well, maybe not, speculations, I just wanted to start like that.) What she is painting is whatever anyone who got inspired by the Dark Souls games will be making. Dark Souls was a painting made by Miyazaki and his teams at From Software and by having Aria name the painting in honour of the player they dedicate the Souls games to each and every player and future player of any of the souls games. Another one is that she is going to start a complete new world. Dark Souls started without flame and the Dark Souls and in Dark Souls 3 the world itself is under the influence of the Dark Sign placed on humanity by Lord Gwyn. The world itself is hollowing. If the paintings can be a pocket dimension with only the power of flame, imagine what will happen to a painted world painted with the power of both flame and the Dark Souls. Gael was around since the time of Lord Gwyn even before the events of Dark Souls and has endured and accumulated knowledge beyond the ages. Combined with Aria wanting to paint the new painted world it could mean that there is going to be a whole new universe. Well, those are my interpretations so it's just up to you what you want to believe or think about the ending of the Souls series. I've had a marvelous time in there and I will be sure to pay proper respects to Miyazaki and FromSoftware by painting my own world.

Maybe so, however Orphan gets annihilated by backstabs in phase 2. Tried it on Blood Level 4, you can get in like 3 backstabs in a row and then visceral afterwards. One of the best attacks you can you bait is that one intimidating looking leap of his that really looks like its going to screw you over with it's hitbox but doesn't when you position yourself correctly.

Best way to fight him is Dodge backwards for his melee attacks and try to stay in front of him. Very minimal camera problems that way. Don't really get why people go under him if they know they're gonna get blasted with fire.

LAWL, midair ain't a one shot kill on everything like the a chant dragon is, but.... He's MUCH faster and has VERY long Attack chains, a few moves are punishable but God dam does he unleash hell on you if your in the wrong apot

Jaycob HUghes I still don't think he's difficult, but it's probably because I find Champion Gundyr really hard; big bosses, even if somewhat fast, are generally easy because their attacks are so god-damned telegraphed into next year (with some exceptions, like Midir's charge/tackle attack), while smaller and faster bosses with combos you can't break out of (granted, usually not more than two hits after one another) often don't telegraph well. And even when I did get hit by Midir (since I'm human I don't instantly learn new bosses' attack patterns and tells) I usually had the time to heal and get my bearings - Champion Gundyr doesn't really let me do that. I guess it's down to personal preference and experience.

One thing about Midir I learned is that you need to find the right weapon to be able to even hit him. Due to the fight being infinitely easier if you don't lock on you have to target say the hind legs, the tail, and the head for double damage when you can. I was trying to use Artoria's Sword for the longest time but I had so much trouble getting hits in. I switched to the Black Knight Greatsword and due to the reach I was even able to hit the stomach at times. Though stamina management is a big thing here. I stayed under 40% equip load, had the cloranthy ring, and always kept half a stamina bar when I was attacking in case I needed to run to avoid the fire or dark attacks. Going into this blind is rage inducing. I had to watch videos so I could learn the attack pattern because, just like the Old Dragonslayer for me, I was just not getting the roll times.

If you got decent enough gear, you can also block the flame breath and wail on him after he's done. It's obviously not the best method - but it beats running away and getting caught by the flame blast anyway when wearing heavier armor, or running towards the tail and getting hit by that as he turns.

I just stayed in front of him and attacked his head (with dual wielded Onikiri and Ubadachi) after dodging the attacks. I mean, I know I suck, so it took a lot of tries and estus, but it also got easier. (In my defense, it was NG+2)

Personally I stayed in front of him within melee range and dodged his melee attacks which were fairly easy to punish. I also had a lightning sword and high faith, so that helped too.

i can sympathize with you on midir and how hard he is. when i played the dlc i went through on ng+7 for a real hard challenge. had to use sorcery to defeat gael and midir took me probably as long as you did fighting him here if not longer xD as for the Orphan of Kos i havent fought it so best of luck to you because im sure thats one of if not the hardest boss of souls and bloodborne
