This is easily one of the greatest if not the greatest live metal concert videos ever. Not just the bands and their energy, but the crowds. I go to a lot of metal shows but it’s rare to see anything like this these days. Makes me nostalgic for something I was never even around for lol

I saw this tour when I was 20ish at the Fort Hesterly Armory in Tampa. I believe the 3 bands where rotating headliner on the tour. I enjoyed Exodus and Venom but even way back at their beginnings I could see Slayer was something special. As we all know they would become the Beatles, Zeppelin, Beethoven, Bach, Cannibal Corpse, James Brown, etc. of Thrash Metal. The best ever in their genre of music!

Before I stumbled upon my first Slayer cassete, Show no Mercy, I was listening to Scorpions and Motley Crue. I grew up in a devout Catholic family and then a Pentacostal mom and step dad. I hated it. I wasn't allowed to listen to anything Metal until I was around 16. This is when I saw this vid on VCR and couldn't believe my ears. Thrash Metal touched my soul. Burned into me. What I mean by evil is that the church and rural Southwestern New Mexico swore my So Cal born and raised taste in music was frowned upon. The more evil the sound, the look, the message, the better. Tom Araya looks and sounds like evil incarnate, but he's actually a devout Catholic. Exodus wrote songs about everything from torture to politics. Venom sung about Black, Dark, Demonic forces. Compared to some of today's music these guys were pretty tame. I quickly went from wanting to piss off my parents to falling in love with music. Songs about Satan to songs about Televangelists and even songs that are about stories from the bible, "Evil" in a good good way. They arent hair metal even though Kerry had hair once. Lol! That's what I meant. Lol! No offense.
