the same goes for me. Slayer was one of the main reasons why I got into metal and why I love metal so much. I'm a huge fan of this band since 2009, have seen them 4 times and even once with Jeff. It was an emotional rollercoaster at their last German and European show in Stuttgart. This band is just exceptional, phenomenal!

I was 13 in 1984. After buying Van Halen's 1984 lp a friend told me that his older brother just discovered this new Underground Metal scene called Speed Metal (later re-named Thrash) I was introduced to Slayer's music then & soon after i bought the "Haunting The Chapel" 12" ep, it was $4.75 back then, cheap for my $10 a month allowance.

I'm with you... I was 14. I found out about Slayer a year earlier when my buddy turned me on to a bootleg of Evil Has No Boundaries. Show No Mercy became my soundtrack. My first show was at the Country Club in Reseda in 84. My Buddies and we're gonna get to every show and we did. Bus, hitch hike, walk, we got to all of the all ages shows. I still have my Haunting The Chapel shirt. It is barely held together but I have it. Venom, Slayer and Merciful Fate, Palladium 85. Slayer, DRI Hirax, COC, Olympic 86. So many shows

These guys have been part of the soundtrack to my life since the late eighties. Their Clash of the Titans show from 1990 still rates among the top five gigs I ever saw, even nearly thirty years later. The realization that seeing those face ripping, bowel loosening songs played live is no longer going to be possible is not a happy one. I'm really going to miss this band. Truly the end of an era.🤘

I've followed slayer from 85 on. The best show in the history of thrash was the reign in blood show at the Ritz in NYC in Nov of 86. I was there and seen them a dozen more times . they were a high part of my life and always will be. I own a 2002 dodge viper with a slayer sticker on the back window and get great commenters every week I drive it. Big love for slayer and Jeff and Dave.

Saw them when they came to Tampa. It was incredible and I got a bit emotional at the end when Tom walked to the front of the stage, basking in the well deserved admiration of his fans like a patriarch with a bunch of grandchildren who don't want him to leave after Christmas dinner. I'll never forget. He looked out over the fans crowding together closer to the stage ready to hear his last words from that platform and, with a slightly tearful voice as evidence that he was truly going to miss this world he helped build said, "Thank you guys so much for everything. I'm really gonna miss you guys." We're going to miss you too Tom.

I saw them at Graspop Metal Meeting this year, they closed one of the 2 mainstages. It was about the same as here, band throwing picks and stuff into the crowd and Tom standing looking at the audience. But the band got off stage, he just kept standing there for about 5-6 minutes. You could see a tear running down his cheek. Such a heartbreaking moment, since he had history with the festival and there were thousands cheering him on, saying their farewells to the legends!

Seriously... Did motherfuckering New York represent? I've seen Slayer about 12 times...msg was absolutely the most ballistic show in metal history. That pit was 30 rows deep, by 60 rows wide... For a sold out show at the garden... Beyond the scope of epic. Everyone there was awesome, Slayer was.... Well.... Slayer. New York represented 1000%, I'm proud of this show, and the people that made it happen.
