I agree with that statement. Many bands are more brutal, angry and fast, for example the whole death metal scene, but Slayer are the only band that can resemble that eerie feel in metal music. They are unique.

My best friend at the time, Jesse Henke, won roddie for the day on the Clash of the Titans tour , Phoenix. Never forget that day ' and forever honored to be his guest to celebrate that special event. We got to polish dave lambardo's drumset and cymbals, sounds corney but it's not every day you are prepping the masters drumkit. Probably the day that set our lives in the direction they are now. @@Salisboury Just speaking the truth, man. All respect to Paul for the work he's done. Divine Intervention is his best work, IMO and his drumming on it is fantastic. Very well-written. As a live performer, he was never on Dave's level and has only gotten worse over the years, unfortunately. Some guys just don't keep their chops up, while some do, like Pete Sandoval. He's about Paul's age and he's still ripping it up playing Morbid Angel songs. Lars is a far cry from what he used to be but he's one of my favorites from a song-writing and stylistic perspective. Also a great showman. And as far as KK, you're right. Tom and management also had a role in screwing Dave over.
