I saw them in Birmingham and it was amazing, the lighting was crazy and sound production was perfect. Truly one of the best gigs ive ever been to and was really impressed by their stage presence too. You should definitely check out some of their live stuff even though videos dont do them justice

"sulfer on your breath, granite in my chest" - Sulfuric acid is corrosive to granite over time. Meaning, her hurtful words (sulfur) are causing his heart (granite) to deteriorate.

I never thought about this! There are a lot of chemistry references in the songs, I've always wondered if Vessel has a background in that. Alkaline is another good one, where it references "neither acid, nor alkaline" and the song is the 7th song on the album. Right in the middle of the PH scale at neutral. The little details are genius.

Love your reactions to Sleep Token ❤ I was at their Ritual (concert) in Amsterdam. It was an amazing experience. While I am not fond of big crowds it was so worth it. They are absolutely better live. The music, the show and Vessel's voice are incredible. If you have a chance to see them live do it :)

Or multiple, not sure if it's the same one in every song, but lots of references to a woman throughout the discography.

This album is the third album in a trilogy, so it's telling the outcome of a toxic relationship. He's completely fed up at thie point in the story, and if you listen to the first two albums these songs on this album would make more sense to you. Vessel is very poetic and is a musical prodigy that understands nusic in a different way to the rest of us. He knows what sounds snd chords evoke the most emotion from the tones he used. Each sing definitely makes us FEEL SOMETHING; But YES, they are phenomenal live. They are masked and anonymous but they perform on stage. The experience is one I will never forget. Vessel's voice is so good live. Their light show is fantastic 😍 And Vessel is an outstanding performer. Do yourself a favor and go see at the festival. They definitely earned the nomination for TOP BILLING of the Download Festival. I'm in America and saw them over the Summer and they were the top billing here in the States and I'll never forget it. Am so jealous he's doing Download too but I'm in the U.S. so they'll be back bext year. I suspect a new Album will be out by then, so i suggest catching up on their previous stuff for the show because their performance of these songs are Awesome 😎 til next time ✌️ Worship ❤

100% correct that the music alone is telling or adding to the story. Vessel(singer)does everything for the most part that you hear minus drums. Even has a hand in the production. Everything is very purposeful down to the way he will sing certain words or add screams. New sub!

He’s singing to Sleep. Yes, it is a very toxic relationship but he loves Sleep deeply. He wants reciprocation but doesn’t always get it.

I think the song is about a horrible car crash. pull up the lyrics and re-read them as the song plays, here are a few "'I was more than just a body in your 'PASSENGER' seat; between the second hand smoke and the 'GLASS' on the street; Keep An Eye On the Road or We Will Both Be Here Forever (meaning look at the road or we're gonna crash here and die.)Then @2:32 in the song comes the breakdown (or in the terms of the song story, the car crash). I really think this is what the song is about.
