True, but, not to discredit his work, Carl said himself that the demos were already stratospheric. Which translates to him having to do very little because they had already put in the work before it reached final takes and finishing touches. This is why all of their albums sound amazing. Vessel and II are incredible and Vessel is not just an artist, he’s a master composer.

There is no recording in the universe that sounds good before being mixed and mastered. The producer never said the demos sound amazing, he said the songs were amazing. That means the parts and song structures were well formulated, not that the actual recordings sounded good. Music production is a long process that takes an incredible amount of expertise. Getting everything to sound good not only on an individual basis, but together, is an extremely difficult task. Human hearing only covers so much range, and all the instruments are interfering with each other in that range. Sound is a very complex thing, so it takes a lot of experience and specific knowledge just to get a song to sound not absolutely horrendous, much less good.

I don't get why people have to hate sleep token. I love Will Ramos's vocals but Lorna Shore is not for me, mainly due to their drummer's never ceasing blast beats that overshadow the entire song. But I would never hate them for it. And as for heaviness, I've heard hardcore metalheads who don't like sleep token not being able to handle Infant Annihilator which is by far the best deathcore band. So I just don't get the haters at all. All we can do is laugh at them I suppose 😂😂😂

​@@sylenthd5002 It would be heavy if it was mixed correctly. That's why Knocked Loose should be the clear winner for heavy music, because Sleep Token just simply isn't heavy. Everything is completely drowned out, the guitars are incredibly muddy and don't even sound good on their own, and most important they have no dynamics whatsoever. Literally everything sounds like the same volume/intensity unless it's just a vocal point. Vore is the best example of terrible mixing. The intro sounds absolutely horrible. The guitars are so muddy you'd be better off without them, the synths are so buried and drowned you can hardly even hear them, and the vocals are even MORE drowned to the point where it sounds awful. It doesn't matter if "that's what they aimed for" by drowning everything out and giving it that frantic effect, you can still do that while making everything sound good.
