This has to be album of the year. This year has shocked me to say the least with all the great music but this whole album is a masterpiece

Listen to blood sport from the room below. Shows how amazing his voice is for sure
@F4INT Жыл бұрын
honestly i would even go as far and say he sounds better live than on the albums - each live show feels special and that's also something i love about them - and if you really want to know his voice unprocessed then you should watch the lafayetta room below show of him, literally just him, acoustic.
@klopf8 Жыл бұрын
11:36 believe me, he sounds even better a cappella. And another recomendation without processing, there's a version of EP Two played at a radio program, Nazareth is just fkg awsome, the guitars sound badly processed though.

I'd love to know whats used vocal production wise on vessels voice, its the perfect compliment to the vocalist behind the mask. Also Carl Brown's ambience work on this album is a thing of absolute beauty 🙌

Saw them live last year. He’s that good.
@daltonevans3412 Жыл бұрын
I've seen them live 3 times, and unfortunately he sounded quite flat each time. Still good, but definitely not the same quality as the recorded versions. Maybe touring is taking it's toll on his voice, but there has been a definite difference each time.
@Apparentt Жыл бұрын
@@daltonevans3412 yeah it naturally will. I also caught them live when they were supporting architects at the end of last year and also on their headline at the start of this year. I thought they sounded amazing live, but even then let's not act like there is 0 processing happening during every bands live shows. Not even to say that's a bad thing at all. I'd expect nothing less from a live performance, if everyone sounded exactly the same with their raw voice as they do in the studio then audio engineers wouldn't be as important as they are

I am always amazed at how people can analyse & break a song down. I just listen& know I love this band, there’s something about them, maybe it’s the mystery of them, we don’t know what they look like. I love this album& they deserve their success ❤
@musikbyjh Жыл бұрын
I feel ya on that! Especially with some reactors on here. I couldn’t go as far as they go because I feel that you don’t even get “the song” because you’re too busy breaking it down. I listen and say a few things that I notice right off the bat…but the real breakdown doesn’t come until around the 3rd or 4th listen, when I actually grasp much more of what’s happening. Also, as a song write and musician myself, I can’t really help but pick things apart. Lol

what a great sound to ever come from a english blues rock band the transitions in the song and the instruments

If you want to hear an unprocessed version of his voice, I would suggest watching a live performance of their song, Bloodsport. The difference is virtually non-existent.
@musikbyjh Жыл бұрын
Can’t trust that though…there’s post production on that. I’ve heard the one where he’s sitting at the piano playing and singing. I can’t trust that that’s just completely dry. I don’t know. I’ll have to go back and listen again now that I know them better. Thanks for the suggestion.
@justTas_ Жыл бұрын
@@musikbyjh Oh yeah, that version is produced, for sure. But there’s an “unplugged” live performance Vessel did at Lafayette in the UK on YT. That’s the one I meant.

So I think listening to them live will give you the best "unprocessed" listen to his voice, but he sounds like for like tbh. Try live performances like Higher, The offering or Mine 🙏👍 I cant remember what drumer it was on twitch but he had a look at their live stack and says there is none of the usual vocal effects or filters that most modern bands use 🤷 so take that as you will. Also II does not trigger his drums. Masterpiece of an album. I think acensionism is another great piece of art. Great reaction #WORSHIP
@musikbyjh Жыл бұрын
Awesome! Thanks for that comment. I’ll have to check out some of those. I’ve seen a few live performances and he does sound like this. But there’s all sorts of processing that can be happening at the front of house console and backstage. Doesn’t have to be visible on stage. Matter of fact, it usually isn’t. But, I def need to go to a show. This album is phenomenal. And Ascensionism is one I keep skipping because I’m going to do a reaction to it, as I heard right off the bat that it was amazing. So, I’ve been skipping it. Heard everything else from them so far though. Worship!! 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽

@@musikbyjh I'll keep this as vague as possible because honestly the identities being hidden is something I want to keep respect for (even though there are quite a few throwback mentions in the lyrics to Vessel's past), but if you manage to find his really young days singing - he is the real deal through and through, I'd be interested to know exactly what they might do processing wise or what can be done as I'm very very inexperienced in that regard haha. But all I know for sure is he has a fantastic voice and vocal range with or without audio engineering! :D Appreciate the reaction and perspective
@KieronDSFX Жыл бұрын
@@musikbyjh Thanks for the reaction! What I meant to say was, the drummer (he plays in quite a popular band and is sick in fairness), I'm sure fellow viewers will know who he is, stated he saw them do their sound check, had a cheeky look at their stack (as in what they use processing wise) and saw nothing basically, I'll try find the clip, I understand reverb, compression is a likely candidate but having seen them live, they don't produce music, they create experiences. Thanks for reading and commenting brother, WORSHIP

@@VVVEndZeiT I’m with you about keeping their identities hidden. Although I already know who they are (apparently), I would rather no one ever find out. I think that would be cool as hell. But I’m pretty sure many people already know. Regardless, I haven’t heard the early stuff from him…only a few clips, which led me to believe that he was in fact Vessel, but I never listened to any full songs. As for his voice…whew…I couldn’t tell you. My thing is his inflections, accents and runs. But when he goes between notes, or does runs, it almost sounds like there’s some sort of autotune happening. Not the robotic kind like T Pain. There’s various settings in it, and it’s extremely powerful…but I’m curious if his runs and voice sound like that without anything. Like if he was standing there singing in front of you (not at a concert singing into a mic…but literally just sitting next to you signing). The way his notes change sometimes just feels unnatural. Now, he could just have THAT much of a unique voice and style…that’s very possible. But he has times where he sounds like nothing I’ve heard…which makes me think there’s some sort of effects being used. What it is, I wish I could say. Either way…I love this dude…this band, and everything about them! Cheers my friend! 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽

For me, they are a breath of fresh air. So many bands sound alike and are so stuck in "genre/subgenre" that it is stifling musical evolution. Sleep Token is breaking all typical patterns of song structure and genre. There is also an element to the singers voice that just feels vulnerable and honest. All of that combined with the lyricism that is poetic and tells a story just makes what they are doing exciting. Esepcially in a musical world that is oversaturated with "sameness".
