The whole "i dont know what's got it's teeth in me, but i'm about to bite back in anger/ no amount of self-sought fury will bring back the glory of innocence" hits extremely hard. Those lines drag everything out of me.

On separate ends of the spectrum, I both feel as though the universe wanted me to hear Sleep Token for their message, yet humble enough to know it is what we all share that makes this music as impactful to us fans as it does. It MEANS something to us. It’s not just paint on a canvas but a pulsating source of light through the prism refracting on our soul. Much love ❤️‍🔥🌈💧☀️🌑🌊🌕

@@DJMarcO138 Hahahahaha. Linkin park has waaaaay more hits on any music chart in the whole world. Sleep Token are great but let's be honest.....linkin park's first album had hits that registered on a chart. Sleep Token put out 2 EPs and 2 albums and hasn't had anything yet. Their last album is a masterpiece but nothing the likes that Linkin Park had. Numbers don't lie.

I’ve never had music that wasn’t played at a loved ones funeral make me cry before this album. There are multiple songs that have brought this 41 year old man to tears. Vessel’s voice is fucking ridiculously good. II is an absolute master of his craft. An absolute winning pair of song writers. Not taking away from III or IVs shine, they’re amazing too and I can’t wait to see what they have to offer on the next album, assuming Euclid wasn’t the actual goodbye it felt like😢

This album sums up the past 17 years of my life. Even after making a conscious choice to move on I am not free of the cycle. Even after I thought I had the greatest clarity and freedom, I have descended into darkness and rage beyond what I thought was in me. This song portrays this so perfectly when it goes into that bright moment of clarity and reflection, only to get sucked right back into even darker territory. When we are made like branches tangled up in a flood, karmic bonds are a bitch to break free from.

I don't know how they do it, but their music takes us to a whole new level of emotions. It's painful, beautiful... it hurts, it heals. I don't know yet what the connection is with the few lines in the ending that is from the song Chokehols (tangled up like branches... etc.). I need to know!

I thought I’d finished with the tears, but seeing someone else start to cry set me off again. It’s just so powerfully beautiful. This one is my favourite on the album. Also loving the call backs to other songs. If hiding behind a mask allows Vessel to show that vulnerability, I am more than happy for that to continue, but I also think he deserves the recognition for his incredible talent as himself. And the same for II. The drumming is insanely good and really adds to the overall sound and atmosphere. I’m gutted to have lost past play throughs because of the anonymity aspect.

And how can a band be this good? Because they bear their soul in such sincerity through their pure unadulterated love for music, and we share it, we are blessed to understand all the pains and trials of love they offer through the songs they create. They offer a level of vulnerability and uniqueness of perspective that’s so refreshing, and through all the chords and harmonies equally as unique that portray the emotions and story PERFECTLY. They are beyond compare. And I am so lucky to have found them. WORSHIP

ST’s music is exposing my full awareness of my vulnerability as a human being. And the struggle to fully realize it, understand it, hold it, protect it, nourish it, use it creatively, is hitting me like a ton of baseball bats aiming to send me into the stands. If full creativity within me is about to be born, which I deeply suspect, then I am experiencing the pregnant latent power to completely recognize it with perfect inner vision. And that birth, of which terrifies and overjoys me, is nearly complete. I cannot wait for what emerges and I will fully invest inside in it as if it is as necessary as breathing. There isn’t a bone in my body that doesn’t resonate with influence of ST’s music, lyrical mastery, and musical expertise. ST’s vocal and musical swells, the space between notes, the enormity of expression, the shallow end of weakly linked emotions, the strength of powerful emotions, the pure love within, and God’s energy rushing forth is much like the strength of multiple tidal waves crashing onto my personal shores. And I am uncomfortable, shaken, and stirred by ST, yet I am unmarred, uninjured, unconstrained inside multisensory laced thunderstorms and tsunamis. Whatever message, mission, project inner longing is about to emerge, I will belong to it and it belongs to me and I cannot wait to share it! Thank you, Sleep Token & Vessel, you have woken me up! Micha, your reaction is so golden and pure! Love your channel!

That part makes me emotional too, but the way you reacted to it made me cry more than the song ever did. Seeing you holding back and processing the lyrics until those bottled up emotions come rushing out... pure catharsis captured on video. Beautiful! There's something very profound about the lyrics, "and no amount of love will keep it around if we don’t choose it", specifically the distinction made between having love for someone and choosing to love them. They've left because you didn't choose to love them, and you continue to suffer because you can't choose to not love them. It hits like a freight train.

7:27 the name sleep token comes from the ferryman charon from Greek mythology who ferries souls across the river styx in exchange for a coin, or a "sleep token" (the ancient greeks often believed there was very little difference between sleep and death and i mean, just technically speaking they weren't WRONG). The theme of Sleep Token's music often revolves around this ontological frame, what with the references to a "flood" and that "we were made, it was no accident". Very deep, very artistically practiced band. Much love ❤️.

Beautiful reaction. It doesn't matter if you have already heard the new songs before you did a video on them because with ST they can bring you back to how you felt when you first heard it. I think ST has a more profound impact on some people more then others, I feel like some people are like oh this is a cool new song with cool layers to it, and then Vessel and there music really speaks to others hearts, that's how they make me feel. Also I have watched some reactions and some people feel like the songs all have to have a heavy breakdown... I personally don't feel that's how Vessel writes, IMO the songs that do have the heavy breakdown isn't for the sake of the BD but more so the heavy part is another form of a powerful emotion that Vessel is conveying as he does with his melodies.
@thelightshineth8848
@thelightshineth8848 Жыл бұрын
Completely agree, I think a lot of the breakdowns & dirty parts are very intentional. I guess it's possible some could be arbitrary due to studio/producer influence ("we need this here" stuff) - but I think most of it is artistic intention to express certain feelings at specific points in the story/process, even if it makes for unconventional song structure. The structure of life itself can often feel equally as unconventional and hit us in all the wrong places
@michareacts

Thank you Philip 💙 I was working when I listened to the new songs so I wasn't able to really hear them properly and engage with the emotion. So the reaction is very genuine 💙 I totally agree with your analyse about the break downs! ST doesn't have them because it's cool and a song needs one. They are chosen very carefully to reflect emotion. Amazing 💙

I've been hooked on reaction videos for a while, which is how I discovered this band. I rarely save reaction vids but I'm saving this one. Something about seeing someone get emotional from music hits me. Great reaction and I did like and subscribe 👍

One of those rare gems where the album tracks almost outshine the singles... I really think there is some symbolism scattered throughout. Euclid ends on the same piano riff as "The night does not belong to God", whilst Vessel also sings "The night belongs to you", this would flow straight into Sundowning back to back. Could this album be a different spectrum or prequal into Sundowning- maybe he's finally reached God in Eden? Sleep Token are so mysterious, cryptic... I am blown away by this album. Wow.

I agree! I definitely believe there's symbolism in the whole album and I can't wait to find them out. I mean, even in this song in the ending he sings a couple of lines from Chokehold. So many little details we discover and I'm living for it! 💙

This was one of the best reactions to this incredible song, I love how hard that hit, and how obviously it was affecting you. Absolutely beautiful reaction, thank you. As for the album, this is my first real dalliance with Sleep Token so I dont have the history but it is a strange and beautiful artwork. Something both mesmerising and haunting, while being sexy as all hell in places and devastating in others. Out of the tracks with videos I think Chokehold is still my number one, the rest are all amazing in their own particular ways but Chokehold was a revelation when I first heard it. Of the ones that they haven't released Are You Really Okay absolutely broke me, that is something else.

Sleep Token has found their way into my forever music vault. I'm extremely picky about who I put in there, as only music that I feel a strong connection to, makes the cut. Sleep Token is the band I never knew I needed. They came out of left field for me and Im forever grateful for that.

I couldn’t agree with you more about Vessel’s lyricism. He is an incredibly gifted writer. A lot of the music I’ve grown into is very lyrically poetic and what pulls me in. Lines like “my my those eyes like fire” get stuck in my head and I just can’t get enough. I love this band.

Your reaction speaks to your knowledge of all the songs that came before. TMBTE by itself is epic, but experiencing Sundowning to TPWBYT to now this album puts it all in context with that rear view mirror perspective. They are absolutely masterful at making us feel every note and breath and you can't help but release. WORSHIP 🙌

This band gives me full body chills with every song. I read the lyrics with the song the first time I heard it and it made me tear up. Very rare for a band to carry this much emotion in EVERY song they put out, let along this track.

This album is just a glorious culmination of Sleep Tokens talent and sound that they've just been perfecting across all their albums. I'm glad that they are earning their popularity based on their skills as artists. Every time they try a new genre in their songs I can't help but be excited to see how they make it their own. It almost feels like a disservice to label this band purely as a metal band, because they should never be limited in how they evolve their sound. TMBTE came out at a difficult time in my life and I really needed some good soul music to help me through it all. Thank you for the great reaction, Worship!
