The vocals were so good in some live videos I've seen that I wondered if there was some fakery happening, but that little voice break at 2:17 tells me that it's all legit. In no way do I mean this comment as a complaint, I hope you're able to tell.

Love the band. Theres one thing im wondering tho, why do they turn down Vessels scream so much? Its not the only concert ive watched on YT where I notice it... At 2:50 you can clearly see him screaming and slightly hear it, but it seems the guitarists screams are turned way louder as is audible at 2:40, if you watch closely you can barely hear the screaming anymore after the guitarist walks away from the mic, but vessel is still screaming and again its slightly audible. Vessels scream is a higher note, and also sounds great from the little i can hear, they should turn it up, that kinda scream slaps you in the face, very similar to what Chester Bennington used to do. Also its noticeable here kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmm1n2d6pc6oe9U on the Debut of Take me Back to eden, where the guitarist forgot to scream the first part "I will travel far beyond the path of reason" and then he walks up and the screaming is suddenly 50 times more audible.

Came here to say this! I was hoping Vessel's scream was just as loud as it's my fav part of the whole song. Definitely slaps you in the face!

damn this one has some weird buzzing in the back...
@armandvf Жыл бұрын
Apparently they had lots of sound issues with this show, by the sound of it the venue needs to check their amps, speakers and foh wiring because that sounds like either a slightly unplugged cable or a very expensive sound lol
@PMEMAN Жыл бұрын
@@armandvf the buzzing was probably on the PA somewhere, otherwise they could have "just" muted the channel that creates the buzzing. Since it was on the whole PA i´m guessing it´s somewhere in the house rounting going to the Amps. But my guess is as good as any other. The only other sound issue i noticed was the cut off intro to Alkaline...sounded to me like FOH Operator forgot to unmute the Mains or something, cause on the sidefills and InEars it seemed to be running, and timecode to lights was also working. But well, it was the first show with a completely new setup, way bigger stage and lights, those things happen. They did their best to fix it as quick as possible.
@armandvf Жыл бұрын
@@PMEMAN yeah the only time I've heard that sound when teching was during a college musical when one of the pit band members accidentally knocked some faders on the desk in their performance room and it overloaded the pa in the theatre (theatre wasn't big enough for full orchestra so they played in a studio and then we're patched through to foh). With lights there's some slightly off lights as well where vessel doesn't go to his spot so they just kinda awkwardly leave the lights on the keys or turn them off late, plus they started the drum solo lights at the wrong time so maybe it's just teething issues as they haven't had a setup like this before.
@PMEMAN Жыл бұрын
@@armandvf As for the lights, i think most of the show was run via timecode, so the operator could not just adjust lighting positions as easy. You could see vessel moving into the lights as soon as he realised he wasn‘t. The rest is, as you said, teething issues with first shows. I love the new stage and light design and the show was amazing. I just couldn‘t see much of the stage because i am not very tall and had some big guys standing in front of me 😅 but thats not anyone‘s fault i guess.
@PMEMAN Жыл бұрын
Soundwise, probably not a channel issue because then they could have just muted the channel. Rather i think it was somewhere in the signal chain of the venue. Just my guesses as a professional event technician.

I noticed 2 was wearing headphones was he listening to the song separate to help him with the drumming
@armandvf Жыл бұрын
Hearing protection and most live bands have backing tracks/click tracks as well as their direct monitoring in their ears so they don't lose where they are and what they're doing, you can find some really good examples if you search live iem mixes on KZbin.

No drummer is listening to the song through headphones while playing on stage. It's most likely a click (metronome) to play more accurate in time and maybe the live bass to not lose the right part of the song. In my drumming years I preferred a click and the rhythm guitar, but that's just me. Good choice for II to play with headphones. He's absolutely badass but during his improvisations he sometimes slights off the right time signature and therefore is not in time when the improvised part ends. He's not dramatically off when he improvises but it's often clearly audible in his live drum cam videos if you listen closely. He's a drummer who plays more through his feels than through counting the time signature. The headphones should give it a more accurate touch.

I mean they are definitely not a metal band, but that doesnt mean that they aren´t an incredible band. Great voice, lyrics, drums, arrangement, use of synths, you name it. They would be amazing without the masks and lights, I wouldn't be commenting on bands saying I don't get the hype when I don't even like the genre ffs

I loved The Summoning before the lights and the masks. I heard their song first and listened to it on repeat many times before finding out that they wore masks and whatnot. I don't think they're metal. They have some metal elements, but holy shit I love their music. Been listening to this song and Take Me Back to Eden many times for a week now. I respect your opinion, thanks for respecting others, though.
