It's okay if you don't get all of what is being said. You'll get there. What matters now is that you are learning and improving your Arabic.

@@LearnLevantineArabic Could you please tell me why the verb راحت is used instead of روحت in the sentence to mean I overslept? Thanks a lot!
@YourMajesty143
@YourMajesty143 3 жыл бұрын
@@riceandramen - The Levantine/Shami dialect is different from MSA/Fus-ha. But from my understanding, she is speaking in the first person but she is referring to herself and so she is using the 3rd person feminine form ( راحت ) which means "she went". Also, from my personal understanding, the second word " روحت " means her soul/spirit, so we wouldn't use it as a conjugated verb.

This is such a good follow up video to the previous. Please do more like this ie, more comprehensive listening in a 2nd video to compliment a first tutorial. I use your channel for most of my levantine learning. I think as a none native you have a better and very direct way of teaching. Shukran ktr!

سعاد - Suad بتصحى - wakes up الساعة - hour تمانية - eight بس - but نهاد - Nihad بتضلها - keeps نايمة - sleeping للظهر - till noon

Not sure if Suad is a female or male name... But looks like it's a female name because of the way the verb is conjugated.
@rightupthere
@rightupthere 4 жыл бұрын
She explained btis-ha right before this sentence at 7:43. bed-dal-ha means stays. Nay-meh means sleeping. Lad -du-hor means until noon (literally says ‘for noon’). Finally es-sa-“a means the hour. Hope this helps
