These episodes are making me realise just how much context I have absorbed over the years that is pretty much impossible to get for Varnell in even these deep dives. What Life Goes On came from, what it means, for example. Or how he didn't end his concert on that happy note at all, he ended it with The Last, as a defiant scream. Everything about Amygdala and how we have been allowed into that room before this as well, that we've seen how the scars affected him. This album is tying it all together, weaving a full tapestry. Don't feel bad about "revealing the secret" about how they structure the albums to maximise emotional impact, he's talked about that quite a bit honestly. We are allowed in to his creative sphere via documentaries, live events, and even his talk show. He talked with El Capitxn, the producer you mentioned, on that talk show. Having all these bits makes his music hit even harder, but I'm glad to see it hits even without that. Go VARMY! Dive into the sea of artistry and love and rage and grace that exists within this space of Bangtan. 😘

Ryuichi Sakamoto's piano in Snooze subtly filling the gaps that need to be filled, gentle at all times, supporting the message of kindness and endurance throughout all the song. That and the catharsis of Amygdala are the highlights of this album to me. I expect their album flow to change when they're back from the military. They have had very tough years and know that ARMY want first that emotional release of the songs that go hard, I'd say. But once they're back...maybe we can all leave rage behind and embrace grace moving forward. Thanks for sharing! 💜

No! I didn't misunderstand the context of his laughter, as before the song, he was laughing because he kept mispronouncing, Amygdala, several times and kept joking about this. At this point, he should have immediately been informed that this was a retelling of Suga's real-life traumas and struggles! For the host, who is supposed to be Army, this should have been his first reaction, not his last, and especially after the song played. The critique of the song was at best lukewarm, but only after hearing some of the background on it did the backtracking begin - with the gosh, that's sad, and I feel bad!!!! At this point, it felt forced and an insincere takeback of his comedic remarks! This Silver Army will take honest criticism, but not disrespectful criticism!!! You will not sway how I feel about this horrible "review" of a song that is a heartbreakingly beautiful song about facing and overcoming traumas!!!! They just didn't provide a serious review of an album that is pure genius! Borahae 💜

You know, when Varmy finally start listening to their early group work.... bro gonna be humbled and shooketh cause he is not going to be expecting that style of music in their Youth era albums. And it is going to be so fun to watch it ride out. 😂 Also, Snooze still makes me tear up every time I listen to it. To me, I think it's one of the best representations of who Yoongi is a person, someone who seeks to comfort and support others. I know it's been mentioned more than once, but I really hope Varnell will watch the D-day concert at some point (even if it's not for content or anything) because I think it gives such a greater impact to the songs seeing how Yoongi performs each one and the amazing stage production with the live band behind him and just really makes you appreciate him as a performer. Last year was a tough year in a lot of ways, but being able to go to the D-Day concert and see all the updates and live streams made it at least bearable. Thank you for sharing all these videos. The fun dynamic and close friendship the two of you share is really enjoyable to watch, and then you add in the insightful thoughts and breakdowns from the producer/artist POVs and it is just chef's kiss. 🤌 Thank for all the work you both put into these videos.

There are a few songs where Yoongi reveals everything. Every vulnerability, every hurt, every struggle. Amygdala is one of the most powerful, beautiful, and painful of these songs. Amygdala is the jewel of Yoongi's discography. And the reason he named the song that, is because amygdala is the part of the brain that holds the fear and the memory of pain. It is absolutely crucial you read and reflect on the lyrics to understand what he is revealing with this song.

His albums are an arc. They start out with aggression and a lot of push back towards the world and he starts peeling off the layers. The middle part is a lot of turmoil and soul searching. Then comes the interlude indicating the final shift. At the end, he finally shows his underbelly and the curtain closes. Here, he observes the world as someone in the middle of it with 'Polar Night' and in 'Snooze' he advises on how to deal with this. But there is a shift in tone between the 2 songs, so he used 'Interlude:Dawn' to connect them. What he did was take the piano chords from 'Snooze', reversed them, chopped them up, added the guitar and the drums and also added the crackling of the fire at the start ("So burn it till it's all gone" - Burn It, D-2) of the instrumental. I love that instrumental. When I listen to the album - it takes me through the entire journey from the first album, unburdens me and then I get in a vulnerable mood for 'Snooze' and 'Life Goes On'. For me it represents catharsis.

Amygdala ( it's not that hard to pronounce, I think) is a very heartfelt song for a lot of us. Many of us cried with the first listen. Yes, that's why it's important to read the lyrics. Specially BTS lyrics. Not all of their songs have deep meaning but many of them do. I would write some of it here but I don't want to spoil anything. I understand you focus on the music but it's a shame you don't read lyrics.

The amygdala is the part of our brain involved in processing memories and emotional responses. Basically he’s saying he wants those bad experiences to be wiped by his amygdala so he doesn’t remember it anymore. That song is very special to both Yoongi and Army because an outsider wouldn’t really understand the depth of the lyrics unless you’ve been following BTS for a while and know Yoongi’s story. I’ve only watched the MV twice (it makes me so emotional) and I saw it sung live which made me cry too.

something I respect about these boys is that they always end things on a good note. the blueprint, it applies on songs, albums and album trilogies. for example, "the last" from suga's first album, he talks about all his negative thoughts, fd up things and end the song with super hyped up tone saying now im ok yall cant bring me down. "dday" and "indigo" both albums includes songs about their takes on life and emotions, ending it with comfort and advicory songs like life goes on, no.2. songs with the meaning of lets take it easy and move on. trilogy albums like "love yourself" first album talks about falling in love and all that goofy things, second album talks about heartbreak and realization of how u are losing yourself and molding urself into someone else for your partner and the last album talks about accepting urself and loving urself. when artists talk about true emotions, the listeners feel related. and for them to always end it with a good note, after listening to their songs and albums it always feel like I can go on with this life.

In an era where people are asking BTS to sing in English to try and relate with them, we have Varnell saying he wants to learn Korean to understand them better. That already proves your one of us tbh - that’s dedication that all ARMY have and non-Korean speakers always say that every time BTS drop something new.

dday is a a very special album. takes his roots but also shows the evolution over time. talent, confidence, honesty, and raw emotion is never a question with min yoongi. but there is also wisdom, restraint, grace, and romance on this album as well.

Varnell's ear is so good! When he said Dej loaf, I couldn't unhear it. I've listened to this song so many times and i never thought of that. You're so right! Thank you guys for another great video. I can't wait until you start exploring the vocal line's music 😊💜

I love how Yoongi makes the beat his b*tch. His relaxed, variable cadence, the way he weaves in and out, always bringing it all back together perfectly, harmoniously, is not something I've heard anybody else do.

It would be great to see your reactions to his MVs and the full lyrics. Suga is an exceptional actor. The MV tells his story so well and gives you a much deeper respect and appreciation for his music! He really is an all-around genius!
