Called a 'Swag' in Australia as you probably know. When you blokes work it out, you'll be all over them. You have to season them to help keep the water out. Very convenient for short trips or if you're moving frequently.

Product that would be nice to have for truck owners... A bed tonneau coverr that pops up with tent sides and a pop out tailgate tent side. Basically a RTT design built in to the back of your pickup. Even better would be to have this sit on a drawer bed system for extra storage.
@hommedammn71324 ай бұрын
A rain flap from a cheap tent could be secured where the Diamondback clasps shut on the bed rails by the tailgate and simply drape the rain flap over the lowered tailgate. Then your feet will not get wet in a downpour. A couple loops of paracord could tighten the slack if you don’t want the flap to um… flap.

I use the Badger 25 Sierra bundle, in my longbed tacoma on top of a Bambed with a leer topper. It works amazing all together for the price, compared to a roof top tent or camper. I was going to buy a Super Pacific, but this was ALOT more affordable. Saved the money for gas 👍. Also, the owner is a veteran. Great product.

"a little bit claustrophobic" ... yeah, that. As a hammock camper, I really wish I could concoct something to use my hammock with the vehicle, but I have old school sub zero swag setups. Savotta pads, Carinthia bags, Särmä TST thermal cloak. I do admire the "combination and simplicity of this design though.

Hello, over in the UK I use an ARB Swag tent, mattress built in (no bedding) but heavy canvas so warm. There are other Swags not as big that may fit under your cover, our weather isn't as good so we need the coverage more 🌧️ Really enjoy seeing kit we don't see over here and the landscapes you enjoy are amazing. Thanks Rich

Canvas is great when it's cold and rainy, but miserable when it's sunny and dry. I have one of these and I love it because I can use it anywhere and if there is any chance of bad weather I can always build a shelter or throw up a tent. I have a simple tarp system that is always in the duffle bag in case I need it. Cheers...

I may do something similar. I might sleep on the tonneau cover and then create a tent out the Kuat rack. Then I can keep my fishing gear in the truck bed then put my kayak on top of the rack. I am going with a Trailhunter w/ 6’ bed, little more sleeping space 😊

So cool to see this review! I have a Badger Bed as well and absolutely love it⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ! It's literally like sleeping in my bed at home. I've used at temps ranging from -10 to 60 degrees in my truck, in a tent, on the ground, on a cot, under a vehicle, at my buddies house (his guest room mattress sucks) and in the back yard with the kids. It's one of the top investment in gear I've ever made because it works and I love waking up well rested. Great review... I can attest that this is an accurate review.👊

compare it to the canvas cutter Dominator bed roll
@adamkeane4 ай бұрын
They are different products with different approaches to sleeping. I have a Badger Bed and have seen the Dominator used on numerous pack trips. The canvas Dominator is great product for what it's designed to do. It's basically a free standing canvas tent that you can sleep in and it performs well when the weather is bad. Canvas as a material doesn't breath and your body moisture gets trapped which in turn can make you cold. If the weather is nice, canvas will retain your body heat and you sweat and get clammy. It also uses a foam pad to sleep inside it and you'd need to check their published R value for that pad. You need to have your own sleeping bag. A dominator with everything is like 18-24 inches rolled up and weighs a fair amount. They are big! The Badger Bed is a just a sleep system and isn't trying to be a bivy sac. The top layer is breathable so the moisture escapes and you don't get that clammy feeling. Everything is packaged inside; mattress, sheets and quilts. You can add or remove the quilts so you can customize it for any environment. It's super simple to deploy and roll up and it's like 8-12 inches when rolled up tight and it weighs ~16 lbs. It's half the size and weight of a Dominator. I love the simplicity, comfort and the ability to sleep anywhere that the Badger Bed provides.

@SammyK45852 ай бұрын
I always find these responses on the cost interesting. I have one and for what you get it’s a fair price. The quality is top notch. The functionality is very well thought out. I’ve used it in temps from 75 to 0. I have cowboy camped with it and didn’t worry at all about popping the very expensive MondoKing (it’s $275 not $240). It’s so comfortable that I prefer using it rather than a guest bed. Bottom line is it just works. It may not be for you which is fine. Please share what you use that can do all this.

@SammyK45853 ай бұрын
A Canvas Cutter bedroll is likely twice the weight and size of the Badger Bed. Because it’s waterproof means it isn’t breathable and doesn’t allow your body moisture to escape. This why you get that clammy feeling. I can always throw my Badger Bed into a tent, or a truck bed like Talon did, but I can’t make canvas breathable. Pros and cons to each approach.
