the two contrasting skies. strength and vulnerability. how she had her back turned away from the dark side. the way she laid down in the sand during 'here i am, pry me open'. and how she started facing both sides as she sat up. the pulling away of the frame, making her seem smaller. her persistent attempt to chase it, to appear big. the instance she started going around freely- the release of breath at the end. the strength and relief found in vulnerability. as a 9, i love this song so much. it makes me feel so wounded, yet so empowered every time i listen to it. Embara did a brilliant job in this. ❤️

the first example of #vulnerabilityisstrength , I've seen that actually makes sense.. even though they are contradicting terms... sorry to take this comment to that level - but there is kind of a beauty in that, despite the ugliness of political discourse - it's at least a hopeful message anyways.. thanks.

I remember the minute It was like a switch was flipped I was just a kid who grew up strong enough To pick this armor up And suddenly it fit God, that was so long ago, long ago, long ago I was little, I was weak and perfectly naive And I grew up too quick Now you won't see all that I have to lose And all I've lost in the fight to protect it I won't let you in, I swore never again I can't afford, no, I refuse to be rejected I want to break these bones 'til they're better I want to break them right and feel alive You were wrong, you were wrong, you were wrong My healing needed more than time When I see fragile things, helpless things, broken things I see the familiar I was little, I was weak, I was perfect, too Now I'm a broken mirror But I can't let you see all that I have to lose All I've lost in the fight to protect it I can't let you in, I swore never again I can't afford to let myself be blindsided I'm standing guard, I'm falling apart And all I want is to trust you Show me how to lay my sword down For long enough to let you through Here I am, pry me open What do you want to know? I'm just a kid who grew up scared enough To hold the door shut And bury my innocence But here's a map, here's a shovel Here's my Achilles' heel I'm all in, palms out I'm at your mercy now and I'm ready to begin I am strong, I am strong, I am strong enough to let you in I'ma shake the ground with all my might And I will pull my whole heart up to the surface For the innocent, for the vulnerable And I'll show up on the front lines with a purpose And I'll give all I have, I'll give my blood, give my sweat An ocean of tears will spill for what is broken I'm shattered porcelain, glued back together again Invincible like I've never been

@@sophiefilo16 i also know zilch, but this kind of dance speaks to me when it's done well. but it can be risky... sometimes a certain portion will get too messy and it doesn't flow right to me. i'll even admit, this choreo has a little more "drunk stumbling" in it than i usually care for... but when it's done well the motions align with the beats, almost like a music visualizer on Windows Media Player, but laced with the emotional beats of the song as well. and there is a lot more to like than dislike. but if you want to see one of my fave choreos for Sleeping At Last, check out Light choreographed by Emmanuelle Lamberts.

ohifonlyx33, It's the second time I see you commenting below the Eight song, even though you have a hard time warming up and relating to Eights according to the other comment of yours below the other video. I am not sure if I should take it as a compliment or be hurt that we are such difficult people according to the other types. :D I can't speak for the rest, but I personally don't like it when others pity me (I may be wrong but I got that impression when I was reading some comments). The fact that I'm an INTJ (8w9) makes it even worse. ;) Plus, I have my own battles in my home country (Iran) right now so I can't worry too much about how the other types view my type(s) (which do(es)n't completely define me; MBTI or the Enneagram. Far from it, in fact). I don't think it's the right thing to tar an entire type with the same broad brush, because even the rarest subtypes usually consist of millions of people on the earth and all of them are unique individuals. Especially not people we have not met in person at all. I admit your comments were intersting to read, so thanks for sharing. If my English sounds off, it's because my first language is Persian and English is my second language. Have a nice day or night depending on where you are.

@@minayazdanbin2184 I am a huge Sleeping At Last fan. And I love this song. That's why you see me commenting. I am surprised to relate to it, simply because when I read a description of an "eight" stereotype, I usually don't relate very much. I am typically pretty non-confrontational. I don't pity eights though. I also don't suppose to define someone bu a number. I also like the MBTI much more than enneagram, and even then, people are more than a label... I just never understood the 8 type... But this song makes me feel like one. Especially lately.
