Sleepwalk (2004 version)

This is my audio rendition of Sleepwalk to video of Hank Marvin.
I had the pleasure to see Hank Marvin and his son Ben in concert at Portsmouth in 2004 during their tour.
It was a great thrill to hear this version of Sleepwalk played live.
I took up playing the guitar again a few years later and always wanted to play this live version.
At last I have come across the exact backing as played that night which has allowed me to indulge in a little fantasy.
Played on my Custom HBM Fender Strat (Bridge pick up) Via Alesis Quadraverb EFTP, TonePort Ux1 and recorded with Audacity via GearBox.

Hank Marvin is undoubtedly the best leading guitar in the world, for the simple reason that he is the only one who plays with his heart and makes Fender guitars "talk". He, with The Shadows, has formed the soundtrack of my life, with hundreds of wonderful instrumentals, since 1961. I don't care what anybody says, the best version of this by far is Hank Marvin's - he adds a delicacy and a feeling into this number that I have yet to see anybody else do and over the last twenty years or so I've seen most of them!!!

Never heard of these cats, but they did a great job. They sounded like legends of the craft. Obviously the guitar player, but that keyboard player was magic and created a different feel to this classic. Pure ear candy.

ALWAYS good to hear other versions; but most of the time, it is changed, way too much. It is a simple song. Some embellishments are good, but you have to hit the strong melodies of the song, here and there, for crying out loud ... otherwise it just becomes a totally different song, which is what this is ... (BTW: I've been playing this song for about as long as HM has ... )
