My prediction was based on time slot history. In the past 3 seasons, Fox's shows that were scheduled in their Monday 9 PM time slot (Terra Nova, Alcatraz, The Mob Doctor, as well as the final season of House) lasted one season and were subsequently canceled. The exception was The Following.

So in this version the horseman is not only Death but also has a...as Bruce Campbell would call it...a 'boomstick'? So in other words it's like the Evil Dead trilogy, specifically Army of Darkness.

Before Sleepy Hollow premiered, I predicted it would get canceled. It would start off as a possible renewal, but plunge to the point where a cancellation is almost unavoidable by its season finale. Boy, was I wrong about it.

Mmm I wouldn't go and put down some shows that take after movies, for example Hannible is an amazing show so far and sticks to the character development really well! But this is a little underwhelming but I'd still give it a shot nonetheless, the movies are great but times have changed and people want to do things differently and put their own turn on them.
