Oh god recently one of my slightly older cousins, whom I never really talk to, called me and was persistent on hanging out with me. Being family, I agreed and for the first time, we both got to really know each other. We ended up being complete opposites and it was the worst night ever. His way of having "fun" was listening to shitty trap music and just talking, and when I explained that playing video games and being a lazy shit on the internet is my way of fun, he refused to believe I found fun in that. This proves their point when they say I wouldn't be friends with most of my relatives.

I think when it comes to gift cards, the best thing is something like Amazon. You can literally buy whatever you can find on Amazon, so giving them something they can spend on with a variety of options is better than something like stupid ass Starbucks, or other restaurant gift cards.

I've been a professional illustrator for twenty years, I've worked in animation, I record music as a hobby, and I've even been paid to write; I also played football *and* baseball as a kid. That said, I've never enjoyed being a sports spectator. I grew up really poor in housing projects, and basically all of the money shit involved with professional sports have made me actively despise them from like, age eight. For one thing, the idiotic pseudo-jingoism between states is abhorrent, then the consumer culture based around it is beyond stupid, and the materialistic and aspirational aspects of pro-sports are really culturally damaging. If professional athletes were paid like, $30k a year and had full-ride medical insurance for their whole lives, that'd make a lot more sense than paying them millions of fucking dollars. That way, you'd definitely have more players who are only in it for the game. Another big annoyance is the fact that the whole industry of professional sports in the US is subsidized by tax money. It's a private business, therefor, it should be funded by entirely private concerns. Give the kind of public money that professional athletics are receiving to public schools and teachers, instead of incentivizing idiocy and banality.
