Humor has been an instrumental tool for me to help cope with some things going on in my life. When people make a fuss about comedians being insensitive to a touchy topic it comes across as an attempt to help maintain political correctness, and even then it is often for someone else's behalf. But this in itself is a form of censorship and should not be tolerated. Regardless of whether they are talked about or not, twisted things, people, and ideas exist. I think it is best to talk about the things that hurt us, and if you acclimate yourself to the point where you can laugh in the face of what used to make you the most afraid then you have grown as a person. And, as they mentioned in the video, there's clearly a difference in making a joke on a podcast and going at lengths to yell in a specific person's face. Thank you for the laughs! They are appreciated

Yeah even in the height of 2016 I thought he was a pseudo-intellectual prick at best. I had a couple friends back then that became fairly prominent and well known figures in that era's alt right and it was something else watching their mental health deteriorate in real-time. Sorry to be THAT person but these days most college courses are a waste of money, unless you're going into a STEM field or the professions (Accountancy, Law, Education etc.) college is not a worthwhile investment. All these literature and liberal arts degrees aren't worth it and you be much better off spending that time working your way up in a firm and doing the liberal arts stuff on the side as a hobby rather than something you spend up $100,000 on. I would say that I'm lucky because my passion for gunsmithing and reloading is a practical skill set that easily translated from a hobby growing up to a career once I left school. Never let someone else tell you what to do, I'm just giving my personal opinion and experience in life but you may well find someone who's liberal arts degree helped them get their dream job.

It's a sad indication of our times when the perceived value of educational disciplines hinges upon their potential to generate income for the individual or contribute economically to capitalist enterprise and consumerism. University education/study ought to represent the privilege one can have to study something you love, that challenges you, and drives you to be a more curious, inquisitive, and detatched critic of both ourselves and the world we live in. Monetary turnover shouldn't figure.
@mip08 жыл бұрын
I don't think you can skip those immature stages. I don't think it's a waste of time in the sense that you need it to move on from it. maybe.. I guess we are a lot about learning from past generations, starting where other people left off to get further. When it comes to behaviour that's just very difficult. You can't really explain why something is immature or something like that. You can't _learn_ from fiction but when an author has a lot of experience and has learned a lot from life, and they express what they've learned with what happens in the story, then it might make you think so that you can _faster_ learn from your own experience.
