I wonder if they'll do a backpack form. We have a backpack and it's awesome for our cats. This thing is way to large to carry it on one shoulder while it hits your hip everytime you take a step. I'd be more interested in a backpack form. I currently use cloverpet and it's heavy. Other than the weight, it's amazing.

I just received my cat's new sleepypod and we're excited about it. It is very sturdy, comfy and looks nice. The one thing I'd say about this carrier is that the top zipper opening doesn't stay open or open very wide. I don't think it would be practical to try and put your pet inside by using the top zipper. You'd have to unzip the top most of the way, get your pet inside and then zip it up. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong because the company photos show a cute little dog with his head popping up out of the top with the zip open. Mine only stays open if I hold the two sides quite firmly and immediately returns to a closed position if you let go. I also didn't receive the PPBS safety clip.

I recently ordered and received a sleepypod for my dogs. My question is that there is only one lock for it. Doesn't the lap portion of the belt need a locking device as well to secure it? The seat belt otherwise is only secured by velcro? My dog loves this product though and it is the safest option I have seen for transporting tiny dogs!

I love my pod since I use it for my wee little foster kittens but I was just fumbling with that outer zipper for 40 minutes. I don't ever want to remove the top from the bottom again after that. :{

Looks nice-- Her Supreme Largeness Big Bad Baby Twinkle (30" long, 14 pounds) might not have been able to fit in it. I'd also wonder about angry teeth chewing through the mesh.

Hello and thanks for stopping to check out the Sleepypod mobile pet bed. As with any carrier by any brand, it is important to measure your pet's length and height and compare against the carrier dimensions. At 30 inches long, your pet would be too long for this particular carrier which is 17". Also too long for Sleepypod's largest carrier (Sleepypod Air) which is 22" long but contracts to fit under airline seats at 16" and for pets up to about 18 lbs.

@@Sleepypod Okay...this answers my question...you don't have pods for babies larger than 18 pounds.....Darn....back to the drawing board. You know.....whoever makes a wonderful carry case/car seat transport for Extra Large Cats will make an absolute fortune because all of us Big Cat Owners will scoop them up. No one but No one makes anything for extra large cats...and guess what....they are breeding extremely large British Shorthairs, Maine Coons, Savannah's and Ragdolls and we have to have some way to get our babies to the Vet at the very least.

BLESS YOU FOR ASKING THIS QUESTION!! I have 2 Extra Large British Shorthairs which are like Ragdolls, Maine Coons and Savannah's and I haven't been able to find anything. Teddy Bear is only 1.5 years old and he is over 20 pounds and still growing. He will get to about 28 to 30 pounds when fully grown. And my Baby Bear is o ly 7 months and he is huge and will be bigger than Teddy. I am desperate to try and find something other than those huge hard dog crates that I can't lift by myself. I hope they have pods to fit our babies. Let me know how you come out and if you get one.

As soon as I try to enclose the cat she'd flip out. If I tried to put the lid on while she's in the bed, She'd flip out. If I put the mesh top on, she would not want to be "put into" an enclosed anything. I've been training her for months, and the closest I can get is to get her to walk into a carrier, but then she bolts out again. She is extremely enclosure averse. The only good thing that this bed/carrier has that would help me is the loop inside to attach the cat to keep it from getting away. I could just attach a loop on my current top load carrier . It's a neat product but my cat would not be reassured or comfortable in anything that encloses her. She even hates oven boxes that most other cats find irresistible. I have no idea what her previous owners did to create that fear in her. It'd be a Nice product though for "normal" cats.

Metqa You haven't given her enough time to adjust just leave it open and leave her alone. Any cat can be clicker trained and rewarded with a treat when they do the right thing. Believe it or not they learn this very quickly.

I've had her for over 4 years. She is clicker trained and familiar with clicker training. She knows how to sit and stay. Training is not the problem. I can use clicker training to get her to enter an open carrier on her own, but she will not stay in it for more than a moment. The treat is not a big enough re-enforcer to make her stay in anything she thinks could trap her. The only box she will sit and stay in is her feeding box that is open on one side and top. She only sits and stays in that when it's time for meals and she will even bolt from that if you make a wrong sudden move while bringing her plate. I could not play 101 games with a box with her at all. She wouldn't even jump into a box if it were the only way to get across a room. She's never slept in any circular pet bed I've ever provided. no matter how long I just leave her alone with it. and Eventually the time comes and I have to take her to the vet. I've tried her with open door carriers, Top open carriers, zipper front mesh see through carriers. If she can see that she can be or is being enclosed, she will have none of that, she doesn't even like being under blankets! I basically have to get BF to help me grab her and trick her into a box before she can realize it. Like I said before, the product is a nice concept for other cats who arent traumatized by enclosures.

As for all my other cats, they've been trained to go into a carrier, Stay. let me close it, wait for however long, pick it up, move it around, travel in a car, etc. All of them have been clicker trained. She is the odd one out and she's second oldest out of 5 cats I've clicker trained.

She surely has a trauma, maybe you should try a specialist in cats or animal behavior? There are other options like the "Cat-in-a-bag" where the head keeps out, so maybe she woudn't feel trapped. Cats really are a box full of surprises :)

Your crash test video from May 2018 shows the Sleepypod in a different position. This video shows it sitting on the seat with the mesh part facing front (so it's on its side). But the crash test video shows it on the seat with the mesh part facing up. Does the Sleepypod work in either position?

The placement of the Sleepypod mobile pet bed is always with the PPRS closure facing forward so that the the seatbelt can be strapped under the closure.
