It was the first time I tried my Sleishman Twin Pedal.

I think the real point to this design is both pedals are direct drive with no connecting rods. Each pedal is directly connected to it's corresponding beater cam.

@0509killer Yes, you can adjust the width of the Sleishman Twin Pedals. Quite significantly too! @ThaTyger actually, there is quite alot of room for the snare. Interestingly, the optimum foot positioning for these pedals is halfway up the foot board, not right at the end. This means you can put the kick and the pedals far enough forward to easily fit the snare.

@brdane An offset pedal allows the drummer to be centered on the kit, allowing for optimal performance. If you notice, it has the same effect that having two separate bass drums and two single pedals would have. Although that is a nice setup style, this pedal allows for much more ease in setup and transportation as it completely eliminates the need for a second pedal.
@St0cks_0114 жыл бұрын
@korymauldin the point in these pedals is so that you can face forward and still play double bass, instead of pointing off to either direction.
@St0cks_0114 жыл бұрын
@Boxcutter7 just means with this pedal you can sit a hi hat stand closer to your left leg and your left leg doesnt have to be stretched out
@Biggermanalways13 жыл бұрын
@mamasboy1231 Actually no. I've worked on those pedels at the Sleishman factory and i will tell you that there is nothing cheep about how these pedals are made.
@0509killer13 жыл бұрын
@ThaTyger Agree. If there was a way to adjust the width of the pedals, I'd be more inclined to look a deeper look at these. Seems that this device locks you into one configuration with no flexibility to other equipment.

@brdane It's actually so they both feel even, when you have a master pedal and a slave, the slave will always feel worse no matter how much you adjust it. So with 2 slave pedals, they are equal.
@SuperUltra13 жыл бұрын
@Biggermanalways I think Sonor does it too.
@fordshop1113 жыл бұрын
@youjustgotizzofied they arent really slave pedals becuase they are both chains are connected to the cam then straight to the beater
@Biggermanalways13 жыл бұрын
@nickisepicwin However, i will say that getting an Omega kit is a very VERY good investment! The Omega's use the same system and level of quality as the Customs do, and sound just as amazing! More than that, They are going to be releasing the Omega Series 2's sometime around march! Keep your eyes pealed!

Interesting pedals, but it doesn't seem to leave much room for a snare. Seeing how the stand off the practice pad is allready jammed in there. And I'm fairly sure it isn't a 14" practice pad.

If you're referring to double pedals that's like saying what is the point of two sticks.
@SentientHusk11 жыл бұрын
No. Direct drive is when there is no chain, and there is a metal link between the cam and the pedal. Axis, Trick, and other high-end pedals have them. Not this. This is chain driven:)
@charlesbullock28567 жыл бұрын
CarbonCopy Covers speed king and the ghost pedals were Direct drive.
@ric66fb11 жыл бұрын
Afraid you're wrong but we'll have to agree to differ cuz as long as I have been drumming (50+yrs)rect drive is ANY means used to directly connect the board to the cam. Indirect would be the use of a rod as with most double pedal slave drives, but terminology can change from one generation to the next. Not that it's that important anyway! di
@Biggermanalways13 жыл бұрын
@ShittyMcPoopyBalls I will correct you there. Sleishman twin pedals are two MASTER pedals, not slaves. Slave pedals connect to the beaters through extension rods with universal joints in them. As the sleishman twin pedal has DIRECT connection to the beater, they are classified as Master pedals, not slave. I believe its DW who does a slave based twin pedal. stupid thing.

@Biggermanalways you worked for sleishman? can you tell me if it's actually possible to buy a custom kit? I can only find the omega series available to purchace

well if its as much as a second bass drum and pedal then its not really worth it. well maybe...i dont know, it seems a toss up between the two....it gets rid of latency I would think but It may be because of the fact that they have the same amount thus negating latency. but if your someone like me with a demon drive you dont have that and I place my bass drum as if i had two. so the main issue is if your want your kit symetrical with out a second bass drum get this if you dont get the second bas
@ronhorne493012 жыл бұрын
personally I want one bc I have always wanted a symetrical set up im abidextrous and its a pain to be pinned to one side or the other bc I cant have my snare in the middle of my toms. i would shell out anothe $500 for these in an instant and trade in my demon drive if I knew that there wasnt a learning curve brought on by shared latency which I think there has to be. I wish I could demo them but alas nowhere near me carries them so I guess I wont get it.

ppl ask whats the point.. just think how many kits you've seen/played , ppl have their hihat off in the distance cause it cant go anywhere but (outside) the slave on your pedal , or if u try funky thinks like having it inside. or 1 leg over.. if it clears well (without purchasing specific hi-hat stands. also think about where your snare is forced to go because of this...
@Biggermanalways13 жыл бұрын
@nickisepicwin No, i didnt work for them, i did work placement for them (Its like work experience) and yes indeed it is possible to buy a Sleishman Custom kit. To do so, call the Sleishman Factory on 02 9755 9606. You can specify exactly what you want, Be it a modified version of the Omega kit, or something completely different like Tasmanian Oak.

lol bro we have the same pair of DCs and that pedal is nice...how much did that cost?
@Oatinator11 жыл бұрын
Thats not right at all. Direct Drive is when the beater is connected to the pedal board using a solid bar, instead of a chain or strap, making it a solid connection.
@marshcheif12 жыл бұрын
i bought the off-set which while there are obvious aesthetic and functional differences, from what i understand there arent many playing differences. but in either case there will be a difference between the centered beater and standard. But Ive figured out everything i could do previously in about a week which unless your on a constant touring schedule isnt a bad trade off for the new layout of your set. also Slieshman=400-600$ depending on where you get em off-set=380$ for factory direct...

Damon right, Rhett M! I've been playing drums for almost 18 yrs. and I was in Marching Band (lead snare) section leader for 3. I was in jazz band and have played in 10 rock and metal bands over the years...I play a Trick double bass pedal and a Slingerland 70s kit. Check out a video of me playing...should be on my page, if not, go to surviveandthrive1 and scroll down to sick prepper solo.

Chuck So now that you gave us your resume, what does all that have to do with this pedal? Lead snare and vintage drums don’t give the review or thoughts on an off-set pedal. It just sounded like boasting.
@killu62614 жыл бұрын
whats the point of having these?
@chucktouchton39810 жыл бұрын
ShittyMcPoopyBalls: The Trick double pedal doesn't have a slave pedal...its a fully independent pedal, as it uses compression springs on both pedals...you can use it as a double, or drop the drive shaft and remove the other beater, put it into the other pedal and use it on a second bass drum.
@ric66fb11 жыл бұрын
Just get a second bass drum, it's better than a double pedal anyway and not that much more expensive than these in the long run. There's endless possibilities for your set up, and you'll have a 100% same feel with the pedals.

@ric66fb11 жыл бұрын
No. Direct drive is when the board is connected to the beater without a rod. Most double pedals have one pedal connected via a n adjustable rod making them a slave , direct drive has no such connection and is connected straight to the cam whether it be by a chain, strap or nylon or metal.
