Backpacking the Buffalo River Trail: Part Two - Exploring Nature and History

In the last video I hiked the first two days of my four day hike on the Buffalo River Trail From Boxley to Pruitt. In this video I hike the final two days.
On my second night of camp the area got poured on all night. A decent amount of water actually made its way into the tent, thankfully with an inflatable sleeping pad I was able to stay dry up above the ground, likely would have been different with one of the foam pads on a previous trip. In spite of the rain making a lot of my gear wet I couldn't complain about it because the rain made for some beautiful hiking the next couple days with lots of waterfalls and little streams crossing the trail.
Along with the natural beauty on the trail, there was some cool historical spots along the way as well. On day three I saw two old cemeteries and passed thru the Parker-Hickman Farmstead in Erbie before camping with just a little over six miles to go on the trail.
The final day of my hike was fairly easy, rather scenic, and perfect hiking weather. It made for great conditions to finish the trail on, especially after getting rained on at camp every night. This was my third time hiking the Buffalo River Trail and it's likely not my last time either. It really is a fun 3-4 day hike.

No problem. For I'm thankful that's one of the only places I noticed litter on trail (other than Busch Light cans along the gravel road 😒)

Young man you have inspired my wife and I to do the hike. We live about an hour and a half from the Buffalo river. We are 57 and 60 years of age. Ain’t no hill for a mountain climber!

Some people think that aluminum will burn. Funny, I still have my 43 y.o. aluminum cookpot, it hasn't burned yet!

Really digging your music choices! BTW, I took your advice in a previous video on the waterfall book by Tim Ernst. Great tip, thanks!

Nice, it was my favorite book when we lived in the Ozarks. Hope you get a lot of great experiences out of it! Also thanks for the compliment on music choices, I can be picky and sometimes it's the most tedious part of editing 😅

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, Buffalo River is an amazing area, it'd definitely be worth the drive. First time I hiked this trail with my brother back in 2016 we met a group all the way from Pennsylvania!

How much food, and what kind, did you pack?
@WanderingBlock

One freeze dry meal per day for dinner, tuna pouch and tortillas/bread for lunch; and beef jerky, trail mix, peanut crackers, sugary snacks with my meals and in between. I usually bring enough food for an extra night just in case the hike takes longer than expected.
