Venice should have spoken to the Netherlands on how to manage water, they are the masters of water control.

It's anorher situation, because the city is built on the mud, and the see has to enter and to go away every 6 hours to take away the sheet of the humans.

I have visited Venice back in the 70s and stayed there for two weeks Such a nice place, breaks my heart to think that it might just slowly slip under the water. Thanks for posting....

In the year 538ad the Earth's landmass shrinks and there is a 200ft sea level rise...Some of those buildings where already there....saying that they built Venice on a swamp is Ridiculous.

The first place to start is stopping the motor boats. Next, all cruise ships stopped miles away from the city. Then have permanent foundation repair work on all buildings done day in and day out forever.

Logically, the engineers don't need my advice.... step 1. & step 2. Stop the ocean liners and the motor boats !

They should prohibit huge yachts & high speed boats. That would help some - plus just be nicer to look at.

They made a huge mistake allowing those cruise ships to come into Venice

When you compare the money spending on MOSE which is needed and at the same time the illegal migrants sucking up more resources with negative returns then it's more than well worth the spending.

Except it Venice will disappear under the waters there is no stopping the seas so stop waiting money and move. Same with lots of other Islands countries and cities around the world in the next 100 years. All countries on the equator will become uninhabatable do to rising temperatures also. Good luck have fun.
