I was finally playing the solo the other day and I messed up on the solo automata about 4 turns in. I packed it up, for now, but I’ll get back to learning it again soon. Great game so far though.

One thing that concerns me is that in seems like your end game scoring goal might sync up perfectly with the round by round scoring, giving you the chance to essentially double up on bonus points, while someone else gets no crossover, adding a lot of luck to the game. Am I overrating this concern?

i could see that potentially happening, but i feel it would be very rare. There is always going to be that element in any game with card drawing, especially when you also have randomly drawn goals. It does not bother me personally. I think there is probably enough variability that the chances of that actually being an issue are very small.

I'd agree with the other reply, it's a really small chance of those things lining up and it would likely need the matching goal to come late in the game to maximise your points. It would depend on the way you're scoring the goals too

Great review, i was trying to convince myself not to like the game, my wife will kill me .. i promised her i would slow down on games this year .... nice way to start :D. Love the art and the engine building. On a side note, nice colourful box for the tokens , were can i find them ?

I had the same talk with my wife about 3 days ago after teaching her Dinosaur Island. She wants time to learn the games we have so I shouldn't buy any for a year. The next day I get an email about how pre-orders are live for Wingspan and I ordered it...I... I haven't told her yet.
