I was a kid when I started watching this show and immediately fell in love with it, I believe at some point it moved to the sci-fi channel and never finished it my family couldn't afford cable at the moment. I watched it again on Netflix and when they took it off I bought the complete series on DVD, love this show and I watch it when I have time

Me I have seen it several times by now since the show aired for the first time. Also good the paperpack to the pilot episode, makes the story even deeper and more interesting. I always thought at this specific double episode while playing FREEDEM FIGHTERS on PC, it came out in 2003; was about a Russian Invasion of NEW YORK CITY, fun ego shooter with RPG moments mixed in. 2:15 This was absolutly true about Gene Roddenberry. compare to it David Gerrrold: THE WORLD OF STAR TREK, New York 1973; to the cult around the STAR TREK TOS series. Gerrold was the guy writting TROUBLE WITH TRIBBLES by the way. And finaly I LOVE this clip as a SLIDERS- fan from the beginning it is full on my line.

I love how Jerry says how he's looking back as an adult except he was one when he made it. Kromaggs used sparingly would be good. The original Star Trek used Klimgons only 6 times. Syfy used them almost every week in season 4 and nowhere near as well.

As a sci-fi fan two of my favourite concepts were time travel and parallel universes. Time travel was a frequently used idea on TV and in movies however parallel universes was less common. I dreamed of as series using that as its premise and a few years later along came Sliders. I now own seasons 1-4 on DVD but have not yet got the fifth and final season. However I have been rewatching season 5 on the horror channel here in the UK. I too would love to see a reboot. It is one of my favourite shows but also one I feel a sense of ownership as it is a concept I came up with independently of the show's creators.

5 has its moments, despite the bad episodes. Clever and good sci-fi way to explain what season 5 does at the start too. Of all the scifi parallel universe ideas, Sliders had the most fun with it

@@parisbeech2180 I suggest Googling the topic of a reboot or a series return. I found an interview from 2019 that may answer your question. In todays climate of remakes and revivals I would not be surprised to see Sliders back on the air.

I watched sliders years ago one of my top favorites. I’ve even created a whole story at 12 years old now 21. It’s similar almost like the Rick & Morty but different and I shared the story to my friends and family they was completely entertained and want even more.😁👏🏽

Watching this now, it’s a brilliant show. ( until mid season 3 before Jon Davies left ). The idea of having different stories, morality plays each episode is like twilight zone, and early Star Trek. Very interesting, mind bending very thoughtful, very fun stories. Now I see he worked under Gene Roddenberry! Which explains how brilliant it was, it had real ambition! I really miss brilliant episodic shows like this with depth and ideas. They don’t make them anymore! Closet thing today is Black Mirror and just see how big that became. Really should reboot this idea, just like season 1, explore a new parallel earth every episode! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍

I remember this show, Highlander, tripping the rift and twighlight zone is what started the Syfy channel when it was sci do in the 90s

But sliders did have a bad guy before the cro-mags , it was the human race. It did a great job of showing us our reflection in the mirror to show us the things we don't like to see about our species. Those early episodes were fantastic.

I’d like to see Sliders With Jerry cross over into the CW Flash Universe. Cisco keeps making references to that Sliders are fictional on Earth 1. Quinn’s like “Do I look fictional to you?”. End of episode ends with Cisco, Gypsie and Her dad opening a stronger multiverse portal allowing Quinn and Co to finally get home.

Well here I am now 75 yrs old and still like watching the sliders since it first started. But missed several of them so now watching the reruns and I must have missed several of them cause tonight I watched 2 and then the last of the 3 that was played tonight I remember seeing a long time ago but still was nice to view again. But the players are now way to old to play those parts again.. And here I am 75 and still like to look at a good sifi movie but then there are some that are a bit too far out there for me to look at.

Sliders is one my all-time favorites and it could have surpassed LOST (the goat, IMO) if the show had better writers. The Weaker Sex was, I think, the best episode, maybe by leaps and bounds, but episodes like it were few and far between. Sliders should have been more like Twilight Zone and less like Indiana Jones. But even without the best writers and in spite of a network that had no idea what the fans wanted, Sliders still comes out as one of the best sci-fi stories ever made. And whoever was responsible for casting Sliders deserves the most credit because that cast of four were on another level. On their own, they were incredible, but together they had incredible chemistry.

Very good points. I think Sliders is really a case of "What could have been?". The writing was a mixed bag even in seasons 1 and 2 which are considered the best seasons. LOST was consistently good but LOST was a serialized show that benefitted from a lot of character development, Sliders wasn´t that type of show for the most part. I think the most in depth was The Guardian but really was few and far between. The cast was brilliant no doubt there. As far as episodes go, the Weaker Sex was one of my least favourites from season one, I really liked Luck of the Draw, The Pilot and Last Days.

It was always my impression that it was the network who wanted antagonists to be introduced with the Kurmegs, with the showrunner objecting, but this video shows the other way around. So it was actually _Torme_ that wanted to introduced the Krumegs, which imo are the worst thing that Sliders came up with, and the network objected? Interesting.

Tormé wanted the Kromags to be like they were in the season 2 episode, not what they were later turned into. They could have been foreboding but instead became little more than an ugly hostile army.

And then something happened to the sliding device where they couldn’t pick where they wanted to land and they’d just go to random places. But you’re right, they should’ve had the coordinates 😂 would’ve saved them a lot of headaches

Great question! On screen, from our perspective, we see the vortex for several seconds. For the Sliders traversing, it might be near-instant. Oxygen would be a nonissue, and exposure to radiation may be no worse than when getting an x-ray.

What's Wade Wells doing now? I saw Deaders and stuff with Kerri Wehr, but I liked wade. What about the professor and Rembrant? Quinn ended up on a few cheesy movies and even hosting the Regis show a time or two, I believe. They should have had a labotomy world where everyone in the world had their left frontal lobe removed in childhood except for a select few that performed the surgeries.

The Cromags were the worst thing to happen to this show. It was kind of ok for one episode, but when they became to focus on those show it was just awful. Once the professor was gone, the whole show turned to shit.
