@@sturmslingshotsandshenanigansbro I'm a huge airgun enthusiast. I also have a ton of slingshot. I'm just not as into it that's firearms and airguns but I'm more into airguns. Whenever someone finds out that I collect and love airguns and hunt with them a lot of times they have something to say. It's like a joke and they just associate airguns with children and that's not the case. A lot of my airguns would take down a person no problem, lol. I just wish so many people wouldn't take it as a joke because they're extremely practical. Oh and also it takes a lot more effort a lot. A lot more effort to hunt with an air rifle or especially a slingshot and it makes hunting that much more exciting.

Attached flexible saw and take down the branch. I will try switching to flat bands and see how it goes. Thx a ton for the good video. Thanks so much for posting this, one month AFTER I threw out my old pocket rocket. 😡. 😀😀 I really never thought I could put flat bands on thin metal like that. I wonder if there is any drop in efficiency with this over a set up that lays the bands flat, since the last inch or so is in a tube shape….probably not much if any, but still, it could change the dynamic of what’s going on in the band. Anyway, I would have done this before I bought some relatively pricey sling shots, but I would have bought the same ones eventually.

Step 1. Go to omegaslingsusa.com and buy some pre-made bands. 4 or 5 of them. Step 2: go to your local woods and find a Y shaped branch and tie the bands onto the forks. Step 3: Start shooting whatever ammo you can get, .45 lead balls for muzzle loaders, daisy 9.5 mm ammo, marbles, whatever you can find. Step 4:Have a blast! After a while you will want to try other sized forks to see if you are more accurate with a wider or narrower fork. Step 5: practice some more. Once you can hit a milk cap consistently you are ready. Step 6: get some 11 mm steel and bands to match and start making meat.

I guess bands make a difference but their not available to the common man so bows are the best choice.

Kcbbands on Facebook for these ones. Amazon sells Precise bands which will also work well.

PS Again: Exactly how do you secure the bands to your leather pouch? What are you using to tie it on so it doesn’t cut through the bands?
@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans14 күн бұрын
I use crystal string, but band material, dental floss etc all works well.

If you squirted some epoxy into the tubing that's flexible enough do you think that would make it more flat like where it would get better performance?
@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans17 күн бұрын
I'm not sure what you are asking exactly. If the question is would filling the tubes make them better the answer is 100% no. It will make them far worse or completely unusable. If you are asking about potentially flattening out the attachment point that might make aiming easier but will be unlikely to improve speed. I would not use epoxy for such an application. I would weld on a the pieces I cut off in a T shape.

Where did you get the flat bands I can’t find quality parts

Omegaslingsusa.com simple-shot.com. amazon.com
@maxpower0016 күн бұрын
I did basically the same thing a few years back, ⅝" heater core hose wrapped in leather and precisely fitted to my hand. And made a sweet leather set of whip\gippo tabs for attachment for increased band longevity and there still holding up strong as bull 💪

Simple-shot.com sells pre-made bands.
@jamesathendune902614 күн бұрын
Want to make sure I got this. Slide old tubing forward, then push flat band over prong, and slide old tubing over flat band to hold in place. I am concerned about the flat band pulling off. Have I missed something? I have an old slingshot frame.

The more MM the thickness of the tire is, the more effective it is and the better it hits
@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans12 күн бұрын
You are incorrect. There is a sweet spot where the power generated by the bands moves the mass of the ammo at peak performance. Bands can be too light and unable to move heavy objects. On the other side of the bell curve there is absolutely a point of diminishing returns, where the additional latex thickness adds to the overall mass needing to be projected forward and actually slows retraction rate. Often you can dramatically improve your speed by going with a thinner latex. A heavier band does not mean a faster ball. The key is finding the sweet spot in draw and performance. There are scientific studies on this.
