Hi Greg, on cleaning the cylinder of the stainless (I supposed) pistol, I was interested in seeing the opposite end of the cylinder that was really not shown. I have had the problem of cleaning off powder stains form the end not shown. Hmmm, what's the deal?

Right he shown the front and said that is the toughest spot to clean but that is false. The front of the cylinder is where all the carbon sticks.

@@Dan-di9jd you mean the BACK of the cylinder is where all the carbon sticks 👍 Very interesting that he didn’t show the back end of the cylinder 🤔 We can all surmise why that is 😔😕

Tom! I hate cleaning the carbon rings off of my stainless revolver cylinder faces, but I am OCD so it must be done. I wanted to see the face of the cylinder after the Carbon Killer! Did it remove all traces of the carbon rings from the cylinder?

In the year since I posted this comment, I purchased a bottle of Carbon Killer and have used it on my S&W Model 60 and my Dan Wesson Model 715, and it really works like magic. What used to take 20 minutes with a Birchwood Casey Lead Removal cloth and a lot of elbow grease now takes 5 minutes of soaking. Good stuff!

Actually it was just a camera oversight. You'll notice Greg does flip it over and wipe it off for the camera to see, but the shot is from a distance, and when they cut the video together the next shot has it back on the loading side. We are intending to do some videos of this here pretty soon, and we'll try and get you a good shot of that.

Is it safe on nickel and blued guns? Can it clean baffles on supressors?
@Slip_2000
@Slip_2000 8 жыл бұрын
Prolonged exposure (eg. multiple hours) to our Carbon Killer could possibly damage some finishes, which is why we caution to only let parts soak for 15 minutes. However for suppressor baffles it is excellent! It cleans them right up with very little effort. Check out this link to one of our user's reviews of it for his .22 lr suppressor www.slip2000.com/blog/suppressors-were-hard-to-clean/

Could this be used in a sonic cleaner?

I actually do. However, I put the carbon killer with parts in a mason jar, then place the mason jar in the ultrasonic cleaner.

I can't afford a half bottle of Carbon Killer everytime I clean a gun.

Don’t remove the carbon rings from the cylinder face unless it interferes with the frame. It helps seal the forcing cone interface.

Great it only taken the entire bottle to just clean a cylinder.
@Slip_2000

The product is reusable! You can use the same bottle over and over again for about a year if you are cleaning your guns regularly.

Slip 2000 Yeah I must admit I'm surprised you can reuse the product. I bought a 16oz jar of it and used it often. Though I dislike the orange smell of it.

Why dont you show the front of the cylinder? A dry rug with nothing wouldve cleaned the rear 😂 bought this and soaked my suppressor baffels in there for days. Guess what happened, all the carbon stayed without any sign of loosening. Id say its a waste of money.
