My main concern is that the cleaner is going everywhere. It’s gonna strip off all residues and oils. Without complete disassembly you may end up with dry areas. I would but the parts in a bag with lubricant then run it in the untra again. then wipe off. That’s how some gunsmiths do it.

Well heck ya, I want to strip everything else, it's cleaning. The Lucas has its own additives though and leaves the components slick still. When using Slip2000, I disassemble everything for cleaning then use ultrasonic lubrication to get every dry area covered in lube. So similar to the bag thing you mention but now I have an additional ultrasonic cleaner and keep one filled with cleaner, the other for lubrication

I have never used an ultrasonic cleaner in my life. Always just cleaned by hand. I’m considering one now. What’s a good one to start with that isn’t crazy expensive? I’d be using it for AR15s, shotguns and pistols, well everything lol.

what do you mean? During cleaning? The only thing I don't really do is put lube in there, to keep it dry so it doesn't gum up.

Why not rinse the parts in water after soaking? Rather than wiping.

You can do that too, but I just use the air compressor now. You just need to make sure all water is gone to prevent rusting.

@@58Alpha Yeah, I would blow it out anyway. There's some stuff called Sonic Lube that you can run after cleaning, but it's $100 a gallon.

Yeah, I am now using Slip2000 UltraThin Ultrasonic Lubrication now. So after cleaning, I blow it all dry, then dunk everything in the ultrasonic lube. It works great! @@Josef_R
