I have been following your channel for a long time. You probably know me too :) I finally bought a 2009 model Suzuki Jimny. There is no LSD or locks, but it is very enjoyable 4x4 :)

Actually that's how it is in some cars - LOCK mode allows for more wheelspin.

@@nikolayrayanov2895 LOCK mode should be able to dig in the ground (like deep snow or mud) and keep the momentum, so wheels must spin. That's not needed in AUTO mode. I had ASX for some years - it worked exactly the same there.

Can you do this for proper offroaders so we can see the difference? like land rover defender, land cruiser 200, fj cruiser, nissan patrols, pajeros?

You mean ESP off? To be honest I don't remember... We tried it only in the last test.

Why put 2nd gear fixed mode instead of first gear in mazda??

It seems that Kia's LOCK mode was mainly made for LOCKing the car on... rollers 😆

It locks front and rear, it doesn't change left-right brake intervention. This generation of Sportage has traction control only on front axle.

If you have one front tire with grip, then the lock mode is useless, since it decreases the power in the front and increases the power in the back. If you have one front tire and one rear tire that have grip, the lock mode doesn't matter. If the rear tires have grip and not the front tires, the lock mode helps the car moving forward. The lock mode also works up to 40 kilometres per hour. Spinning the wheels too fast, disables the lock mode. In the 3rd gear, you shouldn't go higher than 1500 rpm.

Both brands did huge step forward during last years. New CX-5 or Sorento are doing great.
