It does have an interesting sound, but the reason it sounds this way is because Corey's voice was blown out from yelling his lungs out basically, he had to change up his scream since he was just yelling at the very top of his lungs during the first two albums and vol.3

i see everyone post about how Londons Disasterpiece live from the dvd was the best performance of this. & all tho i think that the whole Iowa cycle was their most violent & visceral time period & still my all time favorite record of any artist. the whole band in this performance is phenomenal! not only that but Coreys vocals from Vol 3 into midway thru that album cycle towards end of 2004 was different yes but he sounded monsterous! like listen to the way he screams Spit It Out at the beginning of that live version on this 9.0 album! its like Iowa Corey mixed with a grizzly bear 🤘🤘😂

Word. 2004-2005 VOL.3 Tour was SLIPKNOT’s prime. I love Corey’s gravelly vocals, plus I love how his VOL.3 mask looks and how it makes him sound. Joey was at his peak at this time and anyone familiar with drumming knows it. He’s so tight and his additions of extra footwork/fills he injects into every song improves them substantially. ‘9.0 LIVE’ is the best live album ever released.

There was a dvd released of this, titled '9.0 live'. Search ebay, do what it takes to get hold of it, it's awesome. A favourite part for me was the various camera angles you could change to during the gig...highly recommended!
