They play for past 29 years , they original drummer who u see in that video with black and white mask on is Joey Jordison sadly he passed away in 2021 due to Acute transverse myelitis (ATM) Which is an attack of inflammation (swelling) of the spinal cord. It is caused by the body’s immune system becoming mis-programmed and activating immune cells to attack the healthy myelin covering the nerves in the spine. Also in rock/metal/heavymetal etc world he was considered most gifted drummer of 90's and early 2000's .

You are absolutely correct! For a tiny bit of additional info (I've been a huge Slipknot fan for well over 20 years lol), Joey left the band in 2013 due to increasing symptoms of his transverse myelitis. Jay Weinberg took over at that time as lead percussion (around the time "The Devil In I" came out, as I know you guys did a video on that song too). Jay was recently released from the band and has since been replaced by Eloy Casagrande, formerly from Sepultura. Joey is widely regarded as one of the greatest metal drummers of all time, and the maggots (ie. Slipknot fans lol) miss him terribly. 💔🤘

Metal is a place where people come together to share the experience of releasing anger and pain. Thats why you inherently arent supposed to be hurt in a mosh pit, everyone out there is there to expend energy and work on themselves, everyone in a pit is there for themselves while being around others who are sharing the experience. Its a means of preventing yourself from hurting other people, which is just spreading anger/pain and runs antithetical to the entire idea.

What a great analysis of not only Sliipknot but metal in general. A safe space to rage and let all the hurt and pain out. Kudos my lady. That is spot on. You are a lucky man sir. Thanks guys

ahh yessss... Duality. In my opinion, one of the best "scream therapy" songs out there. Something about us metalheads most people dont understand, we are a family. Your pain is my pain.

She nailed it . thats exatcky it. Everybody there lettin it out, ALl one big happy family. Its a vibe. This song STILL hits hard!!!

You've just described the entire essence of metal music and why so many love it. You'll never feel more worry-free than coming out of a Slipknot (or metal in general) show drenched in sweat with adrenaline pumping so hard your skin tingles. It's like an instant reset on all of your problems. I recommend Nero Forte.

The home was a fans house and offered it for the video to be thrashed/moshed/raged. All of the crowd members were fans(aka maggots) A few people did receive injuries but nothing to major. rip joey. Check out "Psychosocial" next

I just want to say your thoughts on the line "You cannot kill what you did not create" are really beautiful and spoke to me ♥ I always took it in a negative way, as in: you don't always create the pain inside you so you can't ever fully destroy the it. But you flipped the interpretation around so that the pain can't destroy the person! Music has a wonderful way of speaking to all of us, thank you for sharing your listening experience with us it really brightened my day 😄

7:55 that’s a great way too explain what Metal is all about! The house was a fans house that was going to be renovated. People got hurt during the filming of the video and Slipknot payed for their expenses.

It was so cool when they did this video they ran an add in the Des Moines Register (our paper )about how people could come be in the video so many people showed up for it lol you can see them in the yard too but there were more that were just watching that couldn't get in the house or yard lol it was so cool 😁💯💜🤟 If im not mistaken the house was either one of the band members house or was given to them by one of their friends. They even said in the paper when they were looking for people to be in the video that they wanted them to destroy the house in the video too lol 😁💜💜🤟🤟

Did they listen to the song? All they do describe step by step what happened in the Music Video. Then they go into review of the lyrics. They read them out, line by line and interpret line by line. WTF is this supposed to be? Never coming back. Good luck.
