Many moons ago, I aspired to be a Dead-head, in my tie-dyes, long hair, and malodorous hippie glory.
Blues for Allah, along w/ Terrapin Station and Workingman's Dead, will be among some of my favorite albums for a long time. Though I've played Franklin's Tower (from Blues for Allah) with a variety of people, I've never learned Slipknot, which is the connecting space from Help on the Way to Franklin's Tower.
bluesaco suggested I post a mandolin version of the tune as he thought he would sound good on mandolin. I agree! It sounds like something the DGQ would do.
I've not gone through the whole tune. It's mainly the intro which I play here, jam space, and a return to some of the motifs of the intro (the diminished runs and then the minor 7 triad walkdown leading into Franklin's Tower).
Enjoy! I may have tab available for this in the next few weeks, after I get back from vacation.

No, sir - this song is actually called Slipknot and is not Help on The Way - it is the connecting jam between Help on The Way and Franklin's - that's why it's called Slipknot.
