Having a slight bit lighter of an attack is just a by product of being a developed lead player. If you dig in too much with your pick on tremolo or sweep picking you end up accidentally getting stuck on strings. Same with riffs. Too much attack can really hurt your sound. It also helps with dynamics in your picking. By having a default light approach you can add just a tiny bit more aggression to the picking to add a little more energy to a section to make it stand out more. Jim’s no stranger to picking aggressively but he’s also a great example of never doing more or less than needed to serve the song. Just some tips that may help you out with your playing

So ok for people trying to cover this song: They play it differently live than on the CD. So the parts shown here are obviously the correct live parts for guitar 2. The guitar 1 parts are different. Unfortunately there is no 1 tab available that is 100% correct, mainly because Slipknot plays this song differently live as Jim is explaining himself on this vid. Just listen to the cd version and then compare with the live version and you will hear clear differences with Jim's parts.

The white Tele with the white fret board Looks a tiny bit off to me. I prefer the black finger board on the white Tele 🙂

Lunar Scorpio They don’t even make the maple neck versions anymore. You’d have to find them used. But I prefer the ebony.

@@jayhallman6666 I prefer the ebony as well. The maple fretboard looks better but I like the tone of the ebony. Comes with the Les Paul spirit lol
