This song is about an obsessive stalker who is slowly coming to terms with his obsession and seeing the victim for what she really is, violently waking up.. -The obsessive made an image of a perfect woman in his brain and lost his head in it and then slowly in the end started to realize that he is indeed insane and that the girl is indeed not real, "She isn't real".. The pt.2 is the result from the first song, dealing with her not actually being what he thought she was, healing, but the lingering effects are always there.. I really like these songs, Slipknot can be such a creative band.. (Also do note that this is IMO, I feel like the gist of it is right at least)

I am also an educated academic musician and this proves the sad fact about my narrow-minded colleagues. i think both songs are excellent. and even if you're from the academic field, I can't stop appreciating the technical complexity, especially in the first vermilion version. great music and the most professional performance. great, the joy of musicians at the highest level, no matter what genre they are

18:59 this was the first time we seen slipknot transform in this way. Just prior we did get Corey Taylor doing the song bother which opened this door for expansion. I know a lot of people are gonna say listen to their older stuff, but here's a few newer songs that slap. If you do another slower song I'd recommend Bone Church, its a creepy and unsettling 'ballad'. It was released as a single at the beginning of this year and I dont see many people talk about it. And for A heavier song I'd recommend Medicine for the dead, also a creepy song released on their last album. Not many people like "The End, So Far" but I think it was pretty good. If it wasn't rushed as the band had said, I think it could've been just as good if not better than "We Are Not Your Kind".
@adamgouveia759011 ай бұрын
I loved We Are Not Your Kind, that whole album is an absolute banger. Maybe only Spiders and My Pain were the only ones I didn’t really get into. I still enjoyed them but not as much as the rest. TESF I just could never really get into. There’s a few good songs on there but I just didn’t dig it, and I usually like their different stuff. Maybe it just suffers from being rushed or being sloppy. I really think if they took the time it would’ve been so much different. Not that it’s bad, I just didn’t care for it personally. It’s something I can’t quite put my finger on, I just didn’t feel anything from that album as a whole like I did with every other album they put out.

Aphid attraction is correct. I believe pert 2 is better with part 1 first for context. It’s interesting that Judson’s perception may have been adversely affected by the composers intentions before hearing the track. Omg... you guys are going at lightspeed... I really have some catching up to do. Vermillion is a masterpiece. There ain't nothing really to add to your description. I am not too much a fan of pt. 1 either. pt. 2 is a real tearjerker. As the protagonist in the song knows she is not real and does not want to live in that dream, but he is led by his desire. Did you get to Psychosocial already? Otherwise that would be a GREAT choice for the next Slipknot song. Because the evolution of this band is spectacular! Though 3.0 The Subliminal Verses is a fantastic album, I do tend to think that it was also the album the band needed to make in order to shut up the critics that said their concept was evocative for its effect and their lyrics would show how they were lacking true substance. Corey Taylor and the band definetely something to prove and therefore it sounds a bit pretentious at times. O, and Mastodon hasn't really landed yet? For a true metalhead... you need to get into this! The Last Baron would make for a perfect start, as it is a must-know epic prog metal landmark.

@@nieksalomons english is not my first language either that's why i wrote " (hope that makes sense)" :) if sound from the left and right speaker is the same it's in mono and if you play that using one speaker you will hear no difference if you move that speaker to center. in stero you can have something on the one side and something else on the other (like voice in this video, they're mono signals set to left and right and together they make stero sound, if both of them would be in center then it would be mono).
