I'd rank this album a top 3 for me. I love how you can hear everybody in these songs (especially Sid and Craig). I'm proud to say that I got to take my son and wife to Knotfest Roadshow 2022. "’Medicine For The Dead’ is one of those songs about anyone who deals with depression. physical depression and clinical depression, who knows the feeling that you get when you start to feel the numbness come on, and you know there's nothing you can do about it, you just have to ride it out. Even if you take meds for it, there's nothing you can do. The fact that the minutes and the hours feel so long, and you're waiting for that wave to go away. For me, it takes at least three days of dealing with that. I don’t take meds for it. I just try to deal with it and surround myself with people who will coax me out of it. So ‘Medicine For The Dead’ is almost from the therapist's standpoint, where you're trying to find the right combination of chemicals for the numb, for the living comatose." -Corey Taylor

I've been listening to Slipknot since my Freshman year of high school back in '06-'07, I waited in line at Best Buy to purchase AHIG on the day it was released back in '08. That was the first Slipknot album I ever bought, it's still my second favorite Slipknot album to this day and I will defend AHIG till I die. I was going through a very rough time back then and Slipknot gave me strength to fight my autoimmune illness called Systemic Scleroderma, I was very sick at the time and I was undergoing chemotherapy in the hospital once a month for a year (I was 17 at the time). Metal gives me strength, it gives me life, and it gives me peace. #MetalWillLiveForever #MUYA

@@madden1903 you're welcome brotha, throw in "This Cold Black" and you will have listed all of my favorite songs from that album. Every song on AHIG is great imo, I don't understand the h8 it gets. @@BigHomieSteveTheMetalHead I simply forgot to add This Cold Black. It's because of how experimental they got in it that people don't like it. Even now there's a whole bunch of people still on the Iowa hype train, neither don't understand, can't accept, or won't admit that they are not those angry, bitter, hate-filled people anymore. Iowa made when they were all at their rock bottom and they captured it with that album. I would never wish that on them again, for them to have to hit rock bottom to create another album like Iowa.
