And yet, player count is lower than what it was a year ago. The game lost what made it unique and now it's just another (and broken) "go get 'em, boys" fest. Tank battles are nice. But infantry gameplay became boring and predictable. I have over 2000 hours in this game and have been playing since late 2018.

I started at Hell let loose and then moved to Squad, but the sheer lack of communication in Hell Let Loose did it for me, Squad is superior when it comes to team based gameplay, and its rare you find a fully functional squad in HLL, Squad 44 looks interesting and I might have to give it a try.

Squad 44 also has a really cool St. Mere Eglise nighttime parachute drop mission. It feels just like Band of Brothers or The Longest Day with everyone landing spread out and then regrouping with their squads to put a respawn down and then carefully moving to attack their objectives. It requires a lot of teamwork to win and is my favorite multiplayer layer in squad, hell let loose, or PS

Its a cool map but tbh it isn't very fun to play. The map idea is really cool but the pitch blackness means point-blank engagements where the US team has a massive advantage. I've genuinely never seen the German team win a single match, even if their team been steamrolling the past few games.

Squad 44 is ABSOLUTELY the best pound for pound WW2 shooter out there. It's an experience.. and that's one of the many things that sets it apart. You pretty much have an *experience* every time you play. Hell Let Loose has marketing and 3/4 realized console release that keep it in front of people constantly... And the meat grinder thing. Definitely the meat grinder thing.

Obviously, you can't totally negate someone's opinion because everyone can have one but... the game feels smoother than it ever has and it legitimately does have a ton more content. The second Iwo Jima playtest felt GREAT performance wise in my experience as well. I don't really understand the sentiment of "makes the game stand out less" because if you watch 10min of raw gameplay from S44, you are very well aware you aren't watching another WW2 game. And I mean that in the best way possible.

Genuinely one of my favorite games of all time. I got into it about a year ago after off world bought them out and continued development, and I can confidently say that since I’ve bought it every update has been worth it. The tanks are awesome and super detailed, infantry fighting is brutal, and the amount of cinematic moments is huge.

Not really. The 'strategic' part of the game just doesn't work. All Squad game have crappy strategic features. Arma Reforger have a better logistic & capture feature. Way more balanced and fun.

Forgotten Hope 2 is also great. It was a mod for Battlefield 2 and has been updated since 2007, with campaign events hosted by CMP. The community is pretty welcoming, and tightly knit. You will get to know most of the people playing because they play fairly frequently.

I agree completely. Just got out of the Iwo Jima playtest & you have that right, that map takes squad 44 to new levels of emersion. I'm going to miss it like a long lost family member until its release. I'm not expecting another playtest but I'm wrong often & wasn't expecting this latest one lol. They have a few optimizations issues to work out but for me with a mediocre pc build It plays great with minor tweaks in the video settings menu. HLL used to be my main but not since update 5 when player base started changing. It's still a great game its the other issues for me.

HLL also suffers from the progression system limiting new players. Back during the alpha era, it was only limited to new guns. The AT class could build AT guns and carry a bazooka instead of having to unlock the latter.

Its my main play at the moment and I've been in since the days of post - I saw you in my server the other day but you left before I could run up to your tank and lather you in gamer words.keep making the videos and hopefully you'll draw In more of the hell let losers - also, squad 44does include Aas and Raas, same as squad, games where you need to defend and attack like in hell let loose, they just don't often get picked or are out of rotation in servers

2:10 Post scriptum is the P.S on letters. It refers teh fact that, when sending free written letters to home during war, which was a rare commoditty, if youve forgotten something or just wanted to aadd something else, you would wrtie a "P.S (add the info ehre)" in the letter. Enlisted mentioned, I'm shocked.. Sure it is arcadey, and does'nt look that good as SQ44 or HLL but the Tank play is 12/10 in that Gajin being Gajin. In other games I avoid Tanks because getting stuck in a 1m stone wall as a tank would kill all the immersion for me + the flamethrower there is pretty much just more realistic than In the ones above. Biggest problem that there are no VC, only PC can text chat ofc and because it's a free game there is people that could'nt find the mouse right click if their real life depends on it same with when HLL gets free than the BF and COD players run in open fields in a streight line and die again and again than complain that it is a walking simulator.

Like you said we are a new player friendly community. Also a big tip when you are a new player, join a squad and say you are new that helps you and your squadleaders expectations.....

I tried out HLL on this Christmas and i've seen the same as Slorgs - there was no teamplay people doesn't even talked to chat most part of the time. Before all of that i had about two years od experience in Project Reality some time ago and i was clearly stunned by this chaos in HLL. Even the dumbest player in PR or Squad are way more communicable and have stronger potential in team play compared to HLL ones. And what can i say? They didn't even make immersive disembark on D-Day as it is in PR & Squad44 - in HLL you are simply spawn on a beach in the middle of nowhere. There was only two good squad leaders in about sixty hours of gameplay. Sometimes an idiot can be a squad leader in Project Reality but in HLL there are no leadership in 99% cases. People just mind their own business. It's remind me of some PR squads there people just taking a sniper, marksman, HMG kits and playing solo but in HLL thats not just a some of squads acting like that but most part of them (even there is recon squad in HLL for this purpose and no kits with optics in infantry squads)

19:30 The likelihood of that happening in reality is very low. Flamethrower tanks are designed to withstand small arms fire, and even if a bullet does penetrate, the most likely outcome is just a leak because the fuel used by flamethrowers requires a particular kind of ignition source which is rarely produced by a bullet impact. Furthermore, even if it does ignite, the fuel is more likely to burn gradually as it was designed to do rather than explode all at once.

I believe that Hell Let Loose is the superior game compared to Squad 44 (Post Scriptum). I did not always have that opinion as I loved Post Scriptum/Squad 44 and did not really get into Hell Let Loose until about a year ago. When it first came out, I thought Hell Let Loose sucked and was too buggy. I actually refunded the game after the first few times I played it. After so many updates, I bought the game again and I can confidently say that Hell Let Loose is a much better experience and has now far surpassed Squad 44 in terms of fun and immersive gameplay. Hell Let Loose is better optimized, has better graphical fidelity, a larger player base, more focused maps which keep players together, and much more details within the game world that add to the immersion. I don't agree with the points you've made when comparing both games. Both have similar game modes and I'd argue that a lot of the time, Squad 44 can be just as much of a mindless meat grinder as Hell Let Loose. Players in Squad 44 do not generally care about their team's ticket count until the very end when tickets are dangerously low and the game is about to be lost. I also believe that an individual can make just as big of an impact in Hell Let Loose than in Squad 44. There have been many times in Hell Let Loose when I've cleared the cap zone or destroyed armor solo as AT. You brought up the game modes as differentiating factor; however, Hell Let Loose also has the Offensive game mode where one team defends and one team attacks a single point, which is the same as Squad 44. I understand that this video may be in ad for Squad 44, but if a new player was to ask which game to get into, there is no doubt that Hell Let Loose should be the number one choice. Squad 44 was neglected without updates for too long and now Hell Let Loose has matured into a much better game.

Most of what you said about squad isn't true because you obviously haven't played enough of it, maybe stop joining the servers that always say "new player friendly". I've never played a match where tickets were not the utmost of importance behind objectives. I addition, HLL is not the better game, weapons models, sounds, explosions, directional hearing are all absolutely fucked and are far more important than graphical fidelity, the player base, or maps, when it comes to a large scale multiplayer military game. I actually have MORE hours in HLL than i do in post scriptum/squad 44 and can CONFIDENTLY say that squad-44 is both an arm and a leg above HLL in all the spots where it actually matters.

All the points you made about why Hell Let Loose is not the better game make absolutely zero sense. The weapon models, sounds, explosions, and directional audio are good in both games. There's a reason why 20K people are playing Hell Let Loose at any given time whereas Squad 44 can't even break 1K players. And that's just on Steam. There are a ton of players on console and Epic Games, which Squad 44 doesn't even support.

If you don't think those reasons are important in a large scale war focused multiplayer game, I don't know what to tell you and NO they are not good in both games. HLL does everything ALMOST good, which is why it's so infuriatingly bad, if it was just one thing or a few I would let it slide and be able to enjoy it. In fact, it's probably s44's lower player count that keeps it as a more niche and in my subjective opinion more fun game. In HLL I can bush camp a point all game with an mg-42, wipe out squads with it, change position and repeat, noone will ever make a coordinated effort to come kill me. If I do that in squad-44, I might be successful once or twice, if im lucky, but after that, I know there is going to a be a full squad hunting me down and when we make contact they are going to be sure to get fire superiority on me, and then maneuver to kill me. That has never happened to me in HLL with over 400 hours of play.

I bounced off Squad 44 personally, but don’t let that stop you. I play on pc with gamepad so it was always going to be an uphill battle for a game without good gamepad optimisation. But I will say, as someone who exclusively plays squad lead or command on servers I’m familiar with in HLL, I almost never deal with the issues you’re promoting S44 over HLL for. I can totally see how this might be the case in any other role however. These games are so contingent on leadership setting the tone for their respective squads, especially given you can control who is in it at any given time. Want something done right do it yourself etc. etc.

13:51 I guess you never played the Offensive mode in HLL, one team is always defending while the other team is attacking the point. It's not hard to find servers playing it either. As for communications, I find it a mixed bag on public servers, if you want coordination you will be better off joining clan games. As someone who plays Squad Leaders the most, I ironically find times where there is too much talking.

+ The fact that in peak times there are 2-3 servers for your language and that helps a lot in communication, when I join a community or official English server sometimes I need to hop 1-2 squads until I find a squad that talks but in my own language it's hard to find a squad that do not talk.

Disagree on the graphics for HLL... what HLL does do really well, is the maps.. their maps are great - very well populated with scatter and rubble... where some of the S44 maps sometimes feel like old Day of defeat maps with very flat or angular terrain thats just pasted with texture... but side by side on all other aspects of the graphics and S44 comes out on top.

I hate the sniper squad on HLL. It's nearly impossible to get to play as a sniper. Squad 44 is much preferred over HLL.

Post scriptum is pretty good but it gets old a lot faster than squad for me, not quite sure what it is.

Well, it would be nice to have more players, cuz that would simply mean the game is more healthy, but I do have to say that I enjoy the smaller community. It's nice to meet familiar faces and people that know what they are doing. New players are fine, but with many other games, with new players come trollers and dumbos that don't want to listen and play as a team, which is annoying, and in this genre ruins the experience for everyone. I am pretty sure, nobody of "veteran" players in squad 44 are simply mean for the sake of it, it's more like the new players don't want to learn and just don't care.

I hear you. On our server we have a rule that any squadleader can kick a player from his squad. And if all squads do that he will be unassigned and we do not alow ppl unassigned on our server as it is a teambased game and not a lonewolf game. So it is depending on the squadleaders wishes if he gets kicked from the squad or not. But most new players are fine, its just a few trolls that get into the server and are easily spotted and dealt with.....

18:09-18:22 The way you phrased that is pretty odd considering the famous image of the second flag raising on Mount Suribachi was taken on February 23rd and the battle continued for more than a month after, and three of the six flag raisers were killed in that time.

It remains so underplayed because the developers abandoned it without a word for over 300 days, then broke the game by changing the engine and then released an update that solely affects tanks (ie 16 players of any match), they also advertised content in its store trailers that was NOT in the game. Beyond the wire got the same treatment and unlike squad44 (which stayed alive due to clans) it died. Im glad to see its improving but don't sweep this games bad history under the rug.

He didn't sweep anything under the rug, the shitty ex dev-lead (and owner) situation was directly addressed in detail. The old team is gone so why spend half the video talking about that? The new team have made amazing progress in the last year with so much content added. This is coming from a day 1 player who quit quite some time before all that drama and the 'dead game' period. So glad its back as there are no other games quite like it :)

Dev abandoning Post-Scriptum was the best than could happen to the game. What they did into it was trash.
