I'm doing this with a 1/2 honey. I may add maple syrup when reducing if I want to add more sweetness. I traded cider vinegar for rice wine vinegar with apple juice. I also added a healthy amount of ginger with the garlic. It already looks good 😊 can't wait to see it in ~6 hrs.

I am trying your recipe! I did the searing tonight (smelled amazing) of my pork loin (just over 3 lbs). I put halved onions on the bottom of my crock pot (Gordon Ramsey suggestion) and then placed it in my fridge to rest overnight. I made your honey garlic sauce and placed it in a mason jar in the fridge for the night. I am looking forward to cooking this all day tomorrow. I will post an updated comment once my family and I eat it! 😀

I really want to try pre-searing it the night before too. Were you concerned/had any issues with “food-safety”, given the pork was half cooked and then back in fridge and then slow cooked next morning?

@@roxy2foxy I pre-seared it the day before, wrapped it up tight and kept it in a decent fridge, and it was absolutely fine. Tasted great and no-one was sick. Only seared it briefly for a few mins rather than cooked it. Slow cooker it the next day for 5+ hours.

BUT the loin roast was so hard and dry even though I sliced it thin, we couldn't eat it. Put roast back in cooker for an additional 2 hours but still not edible. 8-10hrs is probably on low or 4-5 hrs high (depends on your crockpot)
@TinyLuvsBostons5 жыл бұрын
@@christian_person5058 How long to cook a pork roast in the slow cooker - for pork loin, 4 to 5 hours on low for tender, juicy perfection. Pork shoulder needs to be cooked for 10 hours on low for a 1.5 - 2.5kg / 3 - 5 lb pork roast. Shoulder is a tougher cut of pork so it requires a longer cook time to break down the fibres and fat.
