Jose is progressing really well in his training. He is like a sponge, soaking up any information that is thrown his way. In this video, he learns how to do slow flight (a key part of learning how to land in my opinion) and stalls. This was his first time and he did really well!
Enjoy the flight!

I got a real kick out of this video. It took me back to my training. I did my private training on the same aircraft type - 38 years ago (I'm still current). I remember this exact lesson - like it was yesterday (thanks to your video). Jose reminds me of me when I was learning the same things. One big difference back then was nobody had, nor wore, headsets. That, and my instructor smoked throughout the entire flight (as students did back then too). The armrests back then had built-in ashtrays (believe it or not). My instructors, as great as they were, did not provide the awesome ongoing positive feedback that you do. Your feedback, positive reinforcement, and encouragement of students is truly awesome. Your student pilots will look back on you with great appreciation and fondness. Everyone remembers their most awesome instructor. You have a great way of making instruction positive and fun. I enjoy watching you at work. Kudos to you!

D. Wayne Otto Thank you for your feedback too. It’s always great to hear that a viewer enjoys my style of instructing. Thank you again. As for the ash trays, I’ve seen them in a few different cherokees. It’s crazy to think of both student and instructor smoking. Different times!

Wow you bring so much good vibes in the cockpit! It's great to laugh every once and awhile to keep students from being nervous over thinking because some instructors don't really bring in any good vibes when a student is learning how to fly for the first time making them a little uncomfortable.. I think how you're teachjng your students makes them feel comfortable, encourages them to learn with not that much pressure behind their backs! Keep it up man!

I always ask students why we do stall practise. Yes so we can recognise and recover....but how do we know how slow we can fly coming into land. Some kit built aircraft don't have coloured bands on the airspeed. So take it up to altitude, do a few stalls and find out from that a safe speed to approach and land. Many kit pilots i have flown with have never stalled their machines.

Great job at being thorough and making your student feel like he’s doing well. It’s all too common to see instructors not letting the student fly and trying to micromanage flight controls. I had a instructor that kept his feet so planted on the rudders that I could barely press them.

Watched a couple of these but will probably binge watch them. I am a metrologist (not meteorologist) and I have done work on a lot of avionics RF/Microwave equipment. There's a systemic problem with fraudulent calibration/certification from 3rd party for profit calibration companies, at least in the US. This includes equipment from tests the air data test sets to equipment that tests the integrated landing systems (ISL). Because I witnessed this, I now have a slight fear of flying. I certainly won't ever fly commercial ANY time soon. However, I need to get around. So I am going to get my PPL at some point and just fly myself, as I will get to personally review the test reports/data of the equipment used. This way, I can address my slight fear of flying AND my needing to get places faster in one swipe. Also I say "slight fear" of flying because I've been up in helicopters/airplanes with friends/family members piloting and didn't have a panic attack or think I was dying or anything. Anyways, thanks for the inspiration to continue. Take care.

Like on my Cherokee 140, in ground effect, pull yoke back steadily but do not let it off. Think if a ratchet that holds it at that position. No back and forth on the elevator. Keep looking into infinity hold the yoke back like getting the zipper open on your wife's pants. If the stall light winks that is ok. The stubborn Cherokee with it's under-camber airfoil (like P-51 wing) will not stall but settle into ground.

You are very god instructor. The best learning is when you make it funny and friendly. I have one question. I`m in flight school for mikro airplanes. First 5 hours I was flying Sirius TL 3000, and that plain have front wheel fast (not moving to side when you turn). Now, I`m giong to start with Atec Faeta and this plain has front wheel moving when you pressing the pedals. What is difference when you landing with those two airplanes. I mean, when you landing with side wind, then you should push opposite ruder, but then your front wheel is turning to the side?????? Can you explain please. I like to learn everything before class, so thats reason I`m asking you. THX

Hey there! I just did the first stall lesson today, (shown in this video). There are a bunch of diferent types of stalls (power off, power on, and spin). A power off stall (in this video I think) is really calm, it's not scary at all. I haven't gotten to power on stalls and you wont need to do spins for a private but would need to learn them for Comerical and CFI. If u have any other questions I might be able to answer, but dont take this as necessarily true, I have a whole 4hrs lol
