A famous kettlebell guy by the name of Pavel Tausoline once said in a book that "A workout should give you more than it takes out of you". So true with slow jogging. Im only slow jogging 2 weeks and last night I did 35 minutes and feel today that I could go out and do another 35 minutes again tonight. I have no soreness and I feel energised at work this morning. My friend who is running over 2 years now is always stiff and can't move properly for about 2 days after her runs.....hence why she only runs 3 times a week. Also, when I tried running her way, I did my calf in twice and she has done hers once which sidelined both of us for weeks. But since I'm doing slow jogging, there is no such dangers. And here is the punchline.....we both do it mainly for health and my heart rate is worked just as sufficiently as hers in our sessions. More importantly, I can do it everyday where as she can only do it 3 days and have to spend the remainder of the week recovering. Its a no brainer which practice is smarter and better and which "give you more".

@@TruTube.1. yes training for comrades marathon in South Africa. You get faster over time using slow jogging. Patience is key. If you don’t have the patience then add a speedwork session once a week. Sometimes I throw in tempo runs at 85% vo2 max for 3-5 km.

@@TruTube.1. It's a great base for marathon training. Once you know a proper technique and know how to run listening to your body (instead of overtraining as many do), then you can work on your speed if that's what your goal is. All the best!

As someone who hates running but wants to level up from brisk walking, tried doing this yesterday. It’s a good way to start enjoying jogging/running. I dont feel stressed and was able to maintain my breathing for a long time while raising my heart rate as well. Glad I stumbled on this video. Now I can appreciate running/jogging without feeling strained

Likewise here.....I wouldn't be a great fan of running either. I like walking, but not flat out at brisk speed either and it never felt like a true cardio workout anyway. So for a nice bit of cardio, I wanted to do something that was more demanding than brisk walking, but not as demanding as outright running. Enter slow jogging! But it was always there and hidden in plain sight. We are conditioned to think that running needs to be like a 10 minute mile. Didn't realise that all I needed was to recondition my thinking and use shorter strides.

Excellent. Thank you. I have watched a few of your other videos, but this one really shows how even a beginner can get started. Please do more videos on the technique of slow jogging i.e. landing on the ball of your foot, not kicking, small stride length. I think I'm doing it right, but more videos on technique would be very helpful. Thank you !!! Also, please give some suggestions (and links) on the proper shoes to wear......

Thanks! We will try to make detailed videos in the near future! In the meantime, here is some info about the shoes: After many tests, we are currently using and recommend light, minimalist and flexible shoes made by Tadeevo: tadeevo.com/ If you are interested in giving them a try, order online and make sure to use the code "slow jogging" for a discount and worldwide free delivery.

A Taiwan researcher came to the conclusion that slow jog exercise intensity is 2.5 times of walking, if done at the same speed. So slow jog is a great way to increase exercise intensity and blood circulation without tiring out. Cheers.

I did 35 mins of slow jogging last night and was lapped many times. Its just like when I started weight training.....you stop looking at what everyone else in the gym is lifting and just concentrate on your own goals. My goal last night was to run for at least 30 minutes with my heart rate up fairly high and without hammering my joints. I achieved that and it didn't matter if I covered one mile or 5 miles to do it.
