I find a lot of people hate shrinkage when their hair is shortish(shoulder length or less). After that, it's fine because their hair no longer shrinks to the length of a pixie cut.

Yup, I've noticed that as well. They are also the same ones who say they wish they had long hair but struggle with the short hair they have. It's all about appearance rather than just loving the nature of natural hair and actually pouring love into it (properly maintaining it).

@Jazzerbean yeah, I mean, I understand why alot of black women feel that way because of societal pressures for women in general, though. I don't think it's anti black to crave length contrary to popular belief since most women crave that and feel self conscious with very short hair because they look boyish...this is obvious worse for black women who already get told they are unfeminine by default.. Either way, I do think a confident woman shouldn't mind having short hair and it's quite sexist to feel otherwise.

⁠@@JazzerbeanTBH I loved having short hair, but there’s no escaping the reality that there are weirdos around the corner waiting to speculate on some women’s orientation or gender identity and folks that can’t wait to call us a bald azz Jada Pinkett. It’s not the short hair itself, it’s what comes with it. I can’t blame a woman for being tired of that bs. But you are right that some women just hate their hair and refuse to learn how to care for it.

I’m getting my first trim since I’ve been natural (7yrs) I’ve been doing my own trims but my shit uneven 😂 bc one side had more damage than the other. It’s grown out but still a bit uneven. I’m excited to start 2024 off on the right path! Hairwise

It’s the fact that you took the time to separate his hair in small individual sections to make sure you didn’t over cut or undercut. I’m not sure if that was your intention, but I can truly say I watched a girl on KZbin go to the salon they gave her a puffy, blow dry, and proceeded to cut almost 4 inches of her hair off.

Before drying, leave in and heat protectant.. after drying I want to do a twist out what do I use? Can I use grease after a blow dry?

Yes grease should always be applied after a blowout if you are going to do it

I have split ends 4 months after my trim. Is that normal if I wear my hair out most of the time( twist out about 70% and WNG 20%, and protective style ~10% or less)? My hair is fine and kinky.

I would expect that if you are wearing your hair in our styles most of the time. That just means you need to trim a little more often to keep them under control
