Our Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery Field Notes prompt for this two weeks is Spring bloom or Spring blossom. #Roxysjournalofstitchery
I’ve chose the blossom of the China Flat Peach or Peche Plate for this slow stitch or slow stitching piece.
In this video I share a tutorial for how I add simple ribbon embroidery and slow stitch detail to embellish my piece and hand stitch it into a cohesive whole.
In the previous video I shared a tutorial of how you can choose and collage different fabrics for a slow stitch border, and then add embellishment on the form of vintage laces, embroidered pieces, ribbons, collars and beaded pieces:

With many thanks to Sarah ‪@roxycreationsbysarah‬ and Rachel ‪@roxycreations679‬ who put so much into coming up with and running this great free collaborations. It is an honour to be part of such a lovely community of slow stitchers.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing what slow stitching pieces you are creating for your #roxysjournalofstitchery field notes or other slow stocking projects.
Cheers,
Christine

Thank you Christine for your video and company. This piece is so pretty. The ribbons are gorgeous. I hope you,Alex and Travis have a lovely holiday and a well deserved rest. I am so excited I bought some cotton remnants from a lady who has given up quilting due to arthritis. They are beautiful (I finally have stash !!) and in conversation I mentioned that I embroider and she kindly sent me loads of white linen pieces from herself and her mother's collection . She felt they would be put to good use. People are so kind. Never thought I would ever say ,I have stash and need fabric storage 😂😂

That is such a lovely piece! I love those cute ribbon petals. Never tried those yet, but will try those next weeks. Dog fur everywhere is just so normal 😅. When I returned from hospital, I cuddled one hour with my buddy who refused food after my second day away and was so mourning my absence. After the long cuddles, he felt much better and I looked as If I got my pre-winter coat. 😂 So good to be back and to have some weeks of recovery. Means: plenty of time for creativity - Bonus 😅. Have a lovely and creative weekend!

Awwww so happy your cuddles made your fur fellow feel much better. Yes, dog fur is a symbol of how lucky we are to have our fur family in our lives and how loved they truly are. Cheers, Christine 💙🪡🧵

I really enjoy your videos and I know the excitement you felt when you founded the vintage sewing box, I found one at a thrift store near me about a year ago, there’s a sticker inside that said: A-S Strommen Bunk Hamor . Product of Norway , it gave me a little information about the box. Enjoy, I know I’m so excited to have one. Thanks for sharing 🧵🪡♥️

I love that ribbon petal technique. I might give it a go for myself soon. The “mint and cherry” sort of colour theme is so pretty. It’s almost cute! (Try using an American or English accent for the GPS - I had one a few years ago that wouldn’t recognise destinations in an English accent!😂)

It’s looking beautiful Christine TFS . Your a bad influence I’m going out tomorrow with our daughter, I’ve already told her we are hitting the charity shops (thrift) I want a vintage cake stand for some off my threads. I blame you after watching your fab video the other day seeing you keep your wooden cotton reels on your cake stand . Umm wonder what ease I may find 🫣 xxx

Beautiful piece. Ribbon embroidery is such a fun way to add texture and is so pretty. Just a suggestion, you don’t always have to move the camera stand to zoom in, you can zoom your screen in and out as well. Less stress on the camera stand then too. 😊

So pretty! You must be enjoying a lovely holiday as we speak? We have always been amused how computerised voices pronounce Australian roads. You will need to learn computer pronunciation to navigate anywhere! I always have to ask Siri to ring Lochie, (pronounced with ch like cheese) or she doesn't understand. I wonder if our language will evolve to computerese?!😆
@createandcraftwithchristine
@createandcraftwithchristine 17 күн бұрын
That is too funny about how you have to pronounce Lochie! I’ll have to get into practice if we’re not to keep getting lost 😆 but sometimes that is when you find the best places. Cheers, Christine
