I'm not suggesting you drop everything and pack your bags for Hollywood (your loved ones would kill me!), but it is worth a few emails/calls just to see what it would take, I think. I swear I'm not a crazy stalker - I just changed careers, so I know how scary it is to consider something outside the proverbial box, and how much happier I am now that I did. I took master's classes in interior design, and just signed a lease for a design studio. Glad I took the leap of faith. Even if you don't pursue video/film as a career, we will all certainly look forward to your next video! Good luck. :-)
