I like it. I'm learning to roll in my kayak and this looks ideal. I'm a NAUI diver.

It does seem to have its uses like checking your prop on an inboard boat but..... It should have a warning on it that you MUST be a Certified Diver to use it safely. It should also use a standard tank fitting for any second stage replacement. ( Tank too if it doesn't. )( Yes, I am Certified, Master Diver.)

I think your review was fair and comprehensive. We all know you dive, so I don't think it's a problem to hear about interesting products that you might use in recreation or for paid gigs. I'm not a diver but I grew up watching one on tv. (Lloyd Bridges, Sea Hunt or Jacques Cousteau)

I plan to use this produce in the keys for lobstering. I have a few holes a little too deep for my snorkel. Guess I’ll see how I like it.

I bought this with no experience and have a hand pump with the oil water separator, wish me luck fellas if I don’t reply in a week it’s a bad sign for this product lmao

Oh nah the sign is bad it's been a week

i have not purchased this yet but i think i might because as a junior open water and advanced certified diver at only 14 i don't have the money to buy a all the equipment so this is great for me considering that the only thing i would use this for would be treasure hunting in a 15 ft deep river because i have to rent my tank, BC and reg when i go actual diving to deeper depth and it doesn't make sense to rent all the equipment for such a shallow river

I would get the 2 liter one. This one barely gives you 8 minutes of time underwater. If you are doing diving in 10 foot water and want an hour of time, then I would suggest this: www.diveblu3.com/product/nemo

the size and time is exactly why iam interested in them ...want to have them on my boat for when i need to quickly get in the water clearing the prop, fixing a mooring etc .. where i don't necessarily have the time to kit up... even under heavy work 5 min under water should be enough... thanks for the honest review!

I think that is the perfect use case for these. I still don't like the pressure fitting, but I hear that b/c of my video they are fixing it.
@TCFamas Жыл бұрын
@@rippleguys yeah i hear you on that issue they also have the older 1L bottles with the pressure gauge not on a hose but screwed directly into the first stage... But i would prefer the back pack carrying method so in that case you wouldn't be able to read the gauge while underwater or you have to use the sling bag dont for what i see as the use case (middle of the night, kinda rough weather etc... Worst case scenario to fucking fix something on the boat) i dont wanna have something in front of me hindering me in my movement and potentially hitting me in the face... I have no urgency right now to buy a system right now maybe I'll wait for the next gen but i also think if stored correctly in a safe place and using it while aware of that risk it could still be a viable option.

Thank You Steve for pointing out a few things. Yes there are no dought a few people (novices)that might think they can just use straight out of the box.

Form factor is strong. Capacity is somewhere between snorkeling (!) and scuba. :-)

About the issue with the high-pressure connection…the holes in it are very tiny, so that the tank does not run empty at ones in the event of a break. I myself have had a broken connection of the high pressure hose. Indeed you hear a bang, but it is not very bad. it is the same safety as a normal spg

Good to know, thanks!

And Smaco immediately sent a new one. very good service

would you ever recommend using this setup as an emergency air source for recreational scuba divers?
@rippleguys Жыл бұрын
Yes, but I prefer the ones that have the 2nd stage built into the first stage to remove excess clutter

A lot of boat owners use this sort of system for cleaning their hills, and like you said checking the pro, etc. But to put these in the hands of "average joe" with no training or certification to me seems irresponsible, and that high pressure line is for sure a hard no from me. , Thanks for sharing Steve.

Thanks .. some one told me I can use it without worrying about having Nitrogen problem if I dive within 6ft only , or spend few minutes for each dive.. I wonder if that is correct.!! Appreciate any advise here. 🙏🏻💐
@rippleguys Жыл бұрын
Correct. Issues like that occur once you pass 30 feet or more
