SMAEL. Attack of the less than £10 watch! ITS HUGE!

This SMAEL digital/analogue watch was £7.97 delivered from china in less than 2 weeks! This is just a fun look at what this tiny amount of money gets you! Stay till the end guys, as I have made a mini horror movie! I was inspired because this is such a HUGE and intimidating watch and seemed like it would attack at any time. This watch looks like it's an homage to the Casio Mudmaster.

Extra info: I always disclose how I obtain my watches, be it with my own money (mostly) or occasionally borrowed or donated. All watches are genuine items and never presented in any way other than what they are. Integrity and honesty are what laid the foundations to this channel.

I bought one a year ago. I opened the box looked at the watch and thought this won't fit me. Not in size not in looks. I set it on time, wore it and after an hour I put it back into the package it came in. Put the watch away out of sight, thinking to give it so somebody. A year later I found the watch. I literally forgot about it. It ran 4 seconds fast...in 14 months..! Now I use it as a reference time watch, because it is the most accurate watch I have. I have 70 watches and at least 20 of them are quartz, but this one is by far the most accurate. Actually I wear it as well, because the curvature of the watch and integrated bracelet is actually pretty much the curvature of my 7.5 inch wrist What to do with it? Wear it. It's a good watch and it's durable as well. You can literally throw this watch to the wall, throw it out of the car while driving 60mph, put it in the freezer for 24 hours and chop it out of a lump of ice. It will last forever. Other tests? Washing machine..40 degrees cycle of an hour. Dish washer? Throw it in a mud pool in the woods with a little piece of rope to find it back...And of course the biggest challenge of all...give it to a boy of 6 and ask it back a couple of day's later and see if it still works... I am already looking forward for that video. Also a real Mudman comparison video would be nice....Success.

😂😂😂 Absolutely love the horror film theme. I bought one about a year ago in "red", and it is still going strong. Believe it or not, the seconds hand also hits every minute mark spot on... As for testing, deep water, put it in the freezer, drop it from different heights...as for its ultimate fate??? Remember a video series called "Will It Blend?"... commercial for a blender by Blentec 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

It might just surprise you how well it lasts . Bought a Skmei 7-8yr ago (less than £5) for work knowing it'd get a bit beaten up not to mention the gym,pool,steam and sauna etc and the bloody thing is still going strong to this day and quite accurate as well .

I love these video because it shows you are an open minded in regard to Chinese watches, don't get me wrong, I know you are certainly objective in your reviews but you don't dismiss all Chinese watches just as crap. There are real gems from China and your channel is helping us to reveal which ones deserve a try. This is what I like from you, you check all the mainstream watch manufacturers as Seiko, Orient, the Swiss ones and you give a chance to review the Chinese as well. This reflects quality job and honesty. The particular model you reviewed in this video is not my cup of tea to be honest, it's just too massive. I checked a couple of months ago seeking for something analogue to a G shock and ended buying a watch branded as Sanda/Samda. I got a small wrist so I went with the female version. Man the watch looks so good. It's not a good time keeper at all, after a week it's usually 3-5 seconds behind. So I guess the quartz movement it's not brilliant. I can live with that it never meant to be my daily driver, it costed just 10 dollars and it was intended just for mountain biking. Great to see you having so much fun here. 57mm? That's bigger than the original Flieger B-Uhr! The second hand hits the minute markers well; it's worth 8 quid for that alone. Protip: as long you have to change bi yearly for Daylight Saving Time - always get two of them. set the time the day you get them. one hour apart of course. this way you don't have to relearn how to set the watch if you want wear them again in a different season. i have a skmei- shock 1628. almost never wear it, but still use it almost daily. i once programmed a 7 minute alarm and use that to time my pasta and herbal tea. soon i have to set it for summer time, this will be my watch on sweaty bicycle rides. i have also two skmei lookalikes of the casio a500w vintage, one silver one gold, sitting on my desk under the monitor. set to two different times zones. my cheopo gmt set up. i make daily calls to that other times zone and people i miss dearly during that corona time with its travel restrictions. the modules in them are incredible accurate. 2s/10s slow in a half year. my casio f91 gained 1 min 38 sec plus during that time. the skmei-shock runs 1:20 slow in a half year. i made a nephew happy with a smaelshock (or skmeishock, dont remember), a bulky one. he wears it daily and survived over a year with all activities a 15 years old country side boy in country with tropical climate is up too.

I love the looks. They are not durable. Just a taste and flavour of the more expensive brands. Its fun stuff. Like fake jewelry. But they do keep awsome time and are of some kind of quality. Take a bit of scratching. Have some light at night But for the love of God i can't stop the alarm. Otherwise it looks better than anyone else's watch at work and because its bigger its noticeable.

SMAELs are good for people who don't care at all about brands and just need something that tells the time. As long as you manage your expectations they are great for what they are. For the watch enthusiast however, some watches aren't a good value no matter how cheap they are, and that is the case with SMAELs. It would be better to spend twice the amount of one SMAEL and get a Casio.

Lasted about 6 months just bought because it was cheap dumped it last week they have separate batteries for each part and had to adjust the time nearly every day.

But seriously, if you think these things are ugly and you own a G Shock, you really just hate the fact that these things cost about as much as a 2 pack of batteries for a G Shock. That'd be like dating Amanda Bynes and saying Winona Ryder is a nutjob.

When you see some of the brand names don't you just want to make one up to see if it would sell??? You say Smael ... I'd sell Slug .... you say Berny ... I'd sell Dave ... or Gary ... or Ruprecht or Spud .. or Boris (Sid was taken apparently). You say Phylida ... I'd sell Clymida ... Invicta - Evita or Invite.
