One of the better responses to the Bitcoin question. Rarely does someone who doesn't understand something in markets say as much, typically it will just be criticism.

To enhance our long-term investment mix, my partner and I are introducing a range of stocks and ETFs. We've committed $220k initially, with a particular emphasis on inflation-protected bonds and businesses demonstrating robust cash flows. I see potential for enduring growth in the current market, yet I'm also keen to explore strategies for generating short-term gains.

While the current market offers short-term profit potential, it's crucial to note that executing such a strategy requires expertise and skill.

I agree, having a brokerage advisor for investing is genius! Amidst the financial crisis in 2008, I was really having investing nightmare prior touching base with a advisor. In a nutshell, i've accrued over $2m with the help of my advisor from an initial $350k investment.

impressive gains! how can I get your advisor please, if you dont mind me asking? I could really use a help as of now

I'm all in on the Russell 2000 and some S&P 600. I think there's a very high probability of a huge catch-up move in small caps this year (or maybe next)

So he believes a 75 bps rate cut will give a boost to small caps after they experienced a 500 bps rate hike? Makes no sense and he forgets the fact that 40% of the companies in the R2000 are zombies on the brink of going under. They won't be saved. R2000 will go back to the 1600-1700 range and probably lower if we get a big correction.
@ryann83483 ай бұрын
R2 has always had a significant proportion of "zombies". It's not so much the amount of cuts so much as the Fed finally admitting it's time to start a rate cutting cycle, which we are probably past. It will cause a huge sentiment change. You can also buy the S&P 600, which filters out unprofitable companies

Costco said inflation is over from their perspective but of course they're only talking about goods they buy not really services and stuff like housing. It seems to me the inflation in services, housing, and energy will remain a tough issue.

Wait until the fed actually cuts rates. Then buy small caps.
@ryann83483 ай бұрын
You can try that, but you will miss out on a lot of gains. By the time the Fed gets to a point where they are comfy with cutting rates, small caps will already be worth far more than they are now, because the increased odds of a Fed rate cut will be priced in to the stocks. Only if the Fed totally surprised the market would this work. What you want is to buy small caps when a rate cut looks really unlikely, like if it looks like inflation is re-accelerating.

Giving rich people all this risk free income is inflationary. Cutting rates would actually lower inflation
