One problem of big phones, that foldables do not solve, is single handed operation. Users with small hands might actually prefer smaller screens, not just smaller phones.

One interesting "small" form factor that Mr Mobile neglected to mention is the Blackberry Key. No the Keys aren't small phones if you include the keyboard, yet the screen is just 4.5 inches. So if you either shift the Key to use the screen only or use the capacitive keyboard (except the KEY 2 LE), you can pretty much use the Keys one handed, at least for a few minutes lol. I think this qualifies the Keys.

I disagree with this video. I love the video, but the benefit of a small phone is that you can use it with one-hand. That's something the clamshell won't give us if it gets too big when folded open. Also, as someone who used the new Razr (I reviewed it) it got extremely annoying to have to fold open my phone every time to use it. I think phones like the Flip, or the Razr are going to go the way of the 12 mini and the compact. They will be a small segment of phones, but a segment that needs to be filled.

Right! I have a purse for carrying it. But I got small hands. So it is difficult to use something that is wide and larger than 6inch,idealy would be 5.8 or smaller. Also I just risk droping bigger phone because I have no grip, because they are too large and wide :(

Folding phones are only shorter, not smaller ;) I adore my S10e and will surely keep it for another four years or so, until something that can beat it comes along.

I'm very excited for the next generation foldables, Z Flip 3 in particular. My current iPhone XS barely fits in my car's centre console and it's quite a small device by today's standards.

Ah a sponsor spot that I have person experience with! I've been using rhinoshield bumpers for the better part of 5 years now, along side my Spigen clear cases (to show off my pretty phones) and I can say their drop test rating is not only accurate, but also way undersold. I used to baseball pitch my HTC 10 at concrete in a rhinoshield bumper, and NOTHING HAPPENED to the phone. I cannot recommend these cases, and this sponsor enough. If you're reading this, it's not marketing jargon the rhinoshield IS that good

The iPhone 12 mini has the same screen size as the 8 the only reason it’s smaller is because it lacks the home button and top bezels. Mom and I did a measuring with measuring tape. We only got a few tenths of an inch of difference given that we aren’t perfect and might have made minor error when reading the tape. They were pretty damn close though.

I really enjoy your content! Great videos! BTW, I love those clamshell foldables. I think they're sleek and beautiful. They fulfill my sentimental yearnings for the old-school phones that I started out with. You succinctly addressed the reasons I'm not yet ready for one though. But in the future, I can definitely see myself with one. Right now I have the Pixel 5 and I'm enjoying it.

One thing I didn't expect to like about the Pixel 5 was how small it was -- I'd only ever used Pixel XLs in the past, and the small size along with great screen-to-body ratio scratched an itch for a smaller device I didn't know I had

I'm currently using an iPhone XS, and I love how compact the 12 Mini is. It's nearly as small as the iPhone 5. It gives me fond memories of how great the 5's design was. My only problem with the 12 Mini is that it doesn have a telephoto lens - its second sensor is an ultra wide. I've gotten use to the telephoto lens.

yes, to me Samsung Galaxy S10e is the last small compact flagship Android phone; with the expandable storage and the dual camera at the back (wide and ultra-wide), 3100mAh battery and Snapdragon 855 which could make you use the phone through the day from 7:00 a.m to 6:30 p.m with no charge in between. One tip; the less app that a phone have, the better battery life you get. So for the Samsung S10e, usually put the essential app such as Facebook Lite, Spotify, WhatsApp, Twitter, Chrome, Microsoft Office apps (Lens included), TikTok, KZbin, PhotoGrid, VSCO, Instagram, Keep, Samsung Health, Swarm, LinkedIn, FourSquare, Netflix, your bank apps, travel apps (i.e your air carrier brand), Snapseed; that's it. That's good enough for me.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S10e since august 2019, and I totally agree with those problems. While the screen still looks superb, it's just not big enough for hours of media consumption, and the battery can't give me nearly a full day of intensive usage without crippling the phone's performance with battery saving meassures. I still love it though, and I'm planning on using it for long time.

Apple products have never been my cup of tea. Still, I was really happy to see them release the 12 Mini. And, now that I got the news from you, Micheal; sad that it's not selling as well. Although the foldable smartphones are here to stay, I prefer the sturdier, simpler, and cheaper slab design. For now at least, I'll keep my s10e close. Awesome content as always. Thank you.

I went from an iPhone 4S to a Galaxy S3 Mini, to a Sony Xperia X Compact, and now I'm still with a 2016 iPhone SE. The new iPhone 12 Mini (which is about the size of the 2020 SE) isn't small enough for my liking. And it isn't about pocket size to me, it's about comfortable typing and reach. I'll probably just be waiting for the AR revolution so we can get rid of phones.

Well well well! Probably the first sensible video about modern-day clamshells that I've come across! OK I'm no-way ready to engage personally in these things, at the moment anyway, but I'll keep an ear to your presentations of the future iterations that come our way. Added to that is MrMobile's presentation and delivery which sets him above everyone else. What a joy to watch. Keep it up!!!
