The cyclone almost eliminates changing the filter as long as you don't overfill the bucket. I also wrap my filter with a layer of paper towels. Toss the paper towels if/ when they get dirty and the filter lasts forever. Great video.

Thanks, Randall. Yeah, the key words there are "as long as you don't overfill the bucket" lol. Plus, I work with a lot of MDF making the cross assembly jigs, and the amount of fine dust that stuff puts out is ridiculous. I like the paper towel trick, though. I'll give it a try.

That’s a great idea on dust collection. It’s very important for finishes being applied and the old lungs. We’ve only got two so like eyes, ears, hands etc we always have to be looking out for ourselves. I appreciate your attention to detail and look forward to future episodes. 😊

How do you manage static electricity when attached to a sander?
@maverickdesignswoodworkingАй бұрын
Well, since the hose I'm using is not anti static, mostly I curse and utter profanities every time it zaps me. If you don't mind the stiffness of an anti static hose, that would be the way to go. I hate those hoses, so I've learned to live with it.

Great video! Beginner here. Subscribed! I was working on trying to build 2 x 4 wood cart with my NXT Rigid Vacuum with Heppa filter prior to watching your video. Not figured it out yet. Cant find those PVC tubes (except schedule 40),caps,& coupling inserts locally around here in small community London Ky. Where did you buy your PVC? Keep your great videos coming. Thanks for your help!

That is schedule 40 I'm using. Got it at home depot. Lowes also has it.

@@jamesT8681 Funny enough, I'm also mid-build today. For an alternative, 2" ABS still works with PVC fittings btw. My local big-box was out of 2" PVC :/

I have a RYOBI cordless vac 5 gal topper and I bought the Dustopper Pro, but I also bought a aftermarket 5-Gallon bucket rolling base. Problem is base is really for a carwash system. it has 4 holes, but only 2 hold a 2" PVC fitting, the other two are oblong (3.5"X 4"). Appreciate any thoughts?? LS

It's really hard to make suggestions without seeing what you're working with. Based on my understanding of what your wrote, if I'm understanding it right (not sure I am), you might have to use 4"pvc on the odd size. I might be more help if you send pictures of what you're working with so I can visualize it. You can email me at maverickdesignswoodworking@gmail.com

Did the pumpkin sell??
@maverickdesignswoodworking8 ай бұрын
They sold ok, but I only took them to 1 event, and didn't try to sell them online. I'd recommend having more events lined up or also selling online if you plan to make a lot of them. I did a frankenstein one that was not on the video and that was the best seller. I'll probably do an update video closer to Halloween with how I did that one and a few others.

Great video thanks for sharing. What dust system do you have in your shop now?
@maverickdesignswoodworking10 ай бұрын
Thanks! I have a Laguna CFLUX now, but it's still in the box. Haven't had a chance to put it together yet, so still using this one for the moment.

Man, I've had this for years, and I'm usually pretty good with little innovations like that, but never thought of that before. Thanks. That's a great idea!
