Would Mrs Paw Paw like this in her kitchen, laundry/utility room too? 😉😏 Great build, nice & strong too, deep cabinets are mainly wasted space, these multi layered designs are utilising space better, nothing hidden behind tins of bottles etc

Great project videos. I don't have any experience with a woodshop, though have accumulated a few tools in anticipation of getting started, Ridged R4512 Pro Table saw, Ridged R4331 Planer, Incra LS32-TS-WF table saw fence with Router option and Incra 1000HD Miter. While beginning to buy basic shop tools I spotted a craigslist posting selling his entire woodshop on a Saturday as he was moving to a condo and would have no space for a woodshop. I emailed the seller and asked if I could come by on Friday which he agreed to. When I arrived on Friday morning I was the 2nd person there. He wanted to sell all his stuff to one person, but the first guy wanted his SawStop (which I learned later is the TableSaw everyone wants) and nothing else. I agreed to take all the rest as I had virtually nothing other than the Ridged Table saw, Incra Fence and Planer. It took me 3 trips to get all his stuff to my house. I got a great deal on the dozen or so tools like routers, router table, 8+ table saw jigs and brand new unopened 52" Biesemeyer Fence which I want to sell I had a heart attack about a month after buying his stuff, and have been on the side since with balance and stamina issues (about 2 years), but now with Cardio help at Duke Hospital, I feel well enough to begin again setting up a woodshop and make some "stuff" I've wanted to make for several years. I really would benefit from some help planning a shop in half of a 2 car garage.

PawPaw, I think you're easiest option is to upload the plans pdf to your google drive account. Then from there click on the file and select share, then copy and paste the link of the pdf to the description of this video. You definitely should have a google account already since you have a KZbin account. Even the free amount of online storage google gives you in google drive should be plenty to upload the file. You'll get the shareable link to download the plans from the share options once you have the file uploaded to google drive. In those share options, always be sure to just select that "anyone with the link can VIEW" that way they don't accidentally edit any of your uploads. No matter what option you use, people will be able to download it as long as you select the options that say something like "anyone with the link can..." I hope this helps!
@TheRPhelps245 жыл бұрын
Also, few tips: You can get to google drive by going to drive.google.com Sharing one file or a folder of files does NOT allow others to see other things in your google drive account, so don't worry about having your privacy invaded. Their are other cloud storage options out there like dropbox and such, but I suggested google drive because it's an account you likely already have since google owns KZbin and your gmail account info is what you use to sign in to google drive.

nice cabinet idea. a trick that has been around for ages on dividing a space without complicated division of fractions is, set your two endpoints like you did, then hold your tape on a angle until you have whole numbers on the marks. count the inches between the 2 points and the center is at the half of that total distance. example: if you are holding 2 and 8 on the tape, center would be at 5, thirds would be at 4 and 6, and so forth.

This cabinet is awesome. I'm a teacher and a painter. I've seen so many video tutorials for carpenters workbenches and cabinets. Can you design something for teacher and painter with many markers, pens, scissors, glue, erasers, novelty items, stationeries, paintbrushes, acrylic-oil-water color, linseed oil, turpentine, varnish, notebooks, and endless things? I don't know how I can arrange all my things in drawers. I would really appreciate it. I have little carpentry skills. Teachers don't make much money. I don't want to spend buying on expensive cabinets or desk. I haven't seen any kind of furniture to put all the things I've mentioned. Thanks a lot for sharing your wonderful video.

Great space savers would be open type cabinets hung from horizontal pipes hung from the rafters, where the cabinets hung from the pipes were "on wheels". Each horizontal pipe could have two of these vertical hanging drawers on it, one pushed to the left and the other pushed to the right, and the middle third is the isle way between where you get access to the contents of the drawer. The middle ends of each drawer should have labels of the contents of the drawers. Just realized this might look like two dresser drawer cabinets on their sides, where the drawers open towards the middle, between the two dressers, where as my drawers are hung from wheels hung on the overhead horizontal pipes, and the bottoms are free to swing. I think vertical hanging drawers would be less likely to bind up from heavy tools in it, rather than like the way horizontal drawers bind up from heavy weight tools often do. Mine doesn't just make best use of wall surface area, but rather best use of room volume. See below the support wheels at the top of the door. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGPRYnmndrdqjcU

Just as with Part 1 of this build, this is a great idea! Thanks for sharing. I found it by looking for workshop organizing ideas. After watching the entire Part 2 of this build, my noggin' is now revolving around a similar concept/idea for our small kitchen that includes provisions for a pantry, microwave and air fryer cabinet. Just an idea in my head at this point but I am thinking open shelving in the middle that will hold the microwave and air fryer, and double hinged doors on each side to hold pantry items such as canned goods, spices, bread, sugar, flour and just about anything else that you can think of that always gets lost inside the present deeper cabinet that we use now. Hmmmm.... let me grab some paper and pencil and get to work :-)

I love the idea of this and already have a few different uses I want to make them for. The only thing that could make it better would be to use a fancy hinge setup that allows the doors to open without using any extra space to the sides of the cabinet allowing you to mount them side by side, or next to other types of cabinets on the wall. If I manage to come up with something in cad that can be made easily I'll come back and post the info.

The only issue I've found with using magnetic tool holders is it magnitizes the tools, so if I lay my tools down on my work bench it will often times collect a lot of metal drill kurf. But, I work more with metal than wood. I'm one of those guys who can weld metal a lot better than I can nail wood together.

@DavesIneosGrenadier5 жыл бұрын
@@PawPawsWorkShop Yes I understand. United States does use the metric system in many applications now, particularly manufacturing but not so much in the general population. This looks similar to a plan on popular woodworking's site called a Small Shop Pantry Organizer, although your build process is more interesting, and your dimensions are bigger (and better!). How did you hang this, by screwing the back into studs? Do you think this could be hung using a French cleat?
@PawPawsWorkShop5 жыл бұрын
A french cleat should work just fine. I would recess the back in further to account for the french cleat. I used four screws to mount my cabinet into the studs. That's interesting about popular woodworking site. This design is not new, it just does not get used that much. Not sure why.

@PawPawsWorkShop5 жыл бұрын
The piano hinge design is stronger than regular hinges in that it provides support the entire length of the hinge. It also will help to maintain alignment of the door better than normal cabinet hinges. The other two factors are shear force and twisting force which are completely different.
