We've been stocking up on canned meats and fish. Our garden is on steroids this summer. Just canned up 22 pints of ketchup, 32 pints of tomato soup, and yesterday made a quadruple batch of salsa which I'm canning this morning. Should be about 24 pints. Cabbage is getting turned into sauerkraut. Still have beans to can and so many greens getting dried and powdered up for long storage. Carrots and celery as well as leeks all need to come out of the ground but been so busy with all the tomatoes that are growing as if they where weeds. I did have to go shopping for sweet potatoes and onions as we didn't have the room in the garden this growing season.

I haven't stopped getting pantry items. It's called a rotating pantry for a reason! I hardly buy anything that isn't on sale or discount. Patera has this saying of buy a extra 5 items every time you shop. That's how you build up a pantry and keep it a rotating functional pantry! Hopefully everyone already has a stocked pantry and are just keeping it up with the prices skyrocketing every week. Not only foods to stock. Flashlights, compressores, duct tape, eextra tools or maintence items, socks, shoes, boots. Blankets and bath towels are my next items ro stock!!

I just finished canning almost 2 cases of green beans, and still have jellies and jams, pickles and relish too go. And my friends blessed me with nectarines 2 bags. I will can the fruit and make jelly from the peels& pits. I've surely been working up all I can from the 3 river challenge this month. And will dehydrate some of my sweet potato shreds for soups and hash browns.

I wanted to go to the farmers market to see if I could find some fresh vegetables. Just got my brother home from the hospital yesterday again. Hopefully now I can find a few things I’ve been looking for. Nice shopping trip even though the prices are ridiculous. Have a blessed day ❤️🤗

I found potatoes on sale 2 weeks in a row. I wound up with 90lbs of potatoes. they are russet and I have to peel every single one of them unless there's a way around that.

Greetings from North Carolina! Mrs V, We must have really peeved Mother Nature off… if we weren’t burning 🔥 up from her 💯 plus temps we’re about to float away from all her rain. No happy medium. Makes you wonder just how bad will things get in the days ahead. I’m not preaching just sharing a concern. Every time I make a home delivery or go out shopping I’m picking up something extra for our stock. Don’t forget your extra ingredients for homemade cleaning supplies. Baking soda, vinegar, bleach or bleach tablets, dish and laundry soaps. I rotate those too. Never hurts to check out the Dollar stores … their small flashlights are great and can be traded. Hygiene products, toothpaste, deodorant, dental floss ( use that in homemade candles). I realize you can’t eat these things but they do make us feel like we’re human. I too have been picking up those 5 cans a week, canning or freezing. Trying to keep ahead by squeezing that quarter! 👋

If you packaged things right and stick them in a tote, you can stick things under your bed if you have to. Say for example, you have a vacuum sealer, you can seal up beans and rice and tuck them in a tote and stick them on your bed. You can also take noodles and stick them in a vacuum sealer bag without sealing the air out of them just seal the bag for extra protection and stick it in a bag. I’ve done that and haven’t crushed my noodles yet. If you have guest bedrooms, you can stick things in closets on shelves. Most times guests live out of their suitcase. And you can always save a little room at the end so they can put their clothes in if need be. Laundry room work great for that stuff too if you can put shelves up somewhere.

I'm in Southern Colorado USA, and I am lucky that my small city is surrounded by farms filled with produce at the moment. The word went out that one farm had 50# potatoes for $10. Of course by the time I got there, they were sold out. I did get 5 bunches of beets with the tops for $1 each, so pickled beets on deck this week. I was also able to get a beautiful watermelon for $5, and big packs of chicken legs and thighs for $5 per pack on sale. Canning up the chicken as well. Got some sausage, parmesan cheese and spices for the pantry and only spent $46. It was a good day and so worth driving out to the farm stands! God bless!

We did a restock of Canned Tuna and Canned Heinz beans at walmart because of my 4 teens one will eat Tuna sandwiches for lunch every day with just Tuna and mayo, and 2 of my kids will eat baked beans straight from the can. I swear they were not raised in a barn, they just seem to like to make it seem so lol, and they'll eat a can each. 50 cans of Tuna and 18 more cans of beans after I bought a dozen last week I think. I really need to get back to canning this winter after kitchen reno is done so I can keep up on these baked beans

@@jbloom1981I love having lots of tuna and beans in my pantry aswell!! I have 4 littles, ages 4, 2 & a half, 1 & a half, and 3 weeks old. We actually had tuna sandwiches for lunch yesterday, and I made a can of beans to go with our sausages and rice at dinner time too!! 😅funny how I seen this comment about tuna and beans, but they really are such a useful and important thing to have in your pantry. 😊 Take care!

@allyxo95 my 4 littles aren't little anymore. They're 14, 14, 16 and turning 20 shortly. My oldest lives on Tuna and burgers if allowed. He's eating Tuna sandwiches for lunch atm. I like it once in a while, but not day after day like they all seem to.

@@jbloom1981 yes for sure! It’s definitely nice to change things up instead of eating the same thing all the time 😊 I’m the same way as you, I would definitely get sick of tuna fast if I ate it day after day 😅 but it is nice that tuna goes on sale quite often so you can get it at a good price! The canned beans usually go on quite often too, gotta shop the deals that’s for sure 😊
