Very enjoyable video as always! Personally though, I would disagree on there being a statute of limitations for spoilers: there will always be people who haven't gotten around to that movie on their never-ending watch list, or people who were too young/not born then. That being said, I can't really imagine watching your videos for a movie that I want to keep spoiler-free by using the time-stamp to skip the plot part, I would rather save the video for (sometime much much) later.

In the Jurassic Park novel, Hammond is very clear that the whole point of the park is to sell merchandise to the public at large.

I will have to read the novel because I always got that feeling. They hint at that in the movie but it's much more about "Magic" and "Childlike wonder " but I always thought. Dude you just want to get rich.

Never really watched it in full, it was one of those films that came on HBO during the day like the Indian in the Cupboard. I see that sub count rising as well, that's great my friend!! Looking forward to seeing your channel grow.

I have a soft spot for this movie. So I would recommend it. But now I feel like rewatching Indian in the Cupboard. Gah it's been probably 20 years since I've seen that. Thank you so much friend! I'm so excited to see the channel continue to grow :)

when i watched this as a kid, the vhs cover were the soldiers. even the name says "small soldiers". and i thought they were the good guys. man was i wrong.

I FUCKING LOVE SMALL SOLDIERS. I got it for my 11th birthday June 19th 1998 from my Grandparents. I still have The VHS. Up until recently I never really saw it as an ANTI-WAR ANTI-VIOLENCE movie. But upon further reflection you could interpret it that way Not sure if that was Joe Dante's intention But Small Soldiers is one Joe Dante's BEST FILMS

Agreed! I basically destroyed my original VHS i watched the movie way too much as a kid. The anti war angle was something I came across and it interested me enough to really dive down the rabbit hole. But agreed, its my favorite Joe Dante movie

One things for certain as was pointed out by The Nostalgia Critic in his review of Small Soldiers. He HATES Small Soldiers and I think he misses the whole point of the film But he was ABSOLUTELY 💯 CORRECT when he declared the scene where Major Chip Hazard and The Commando Elites turn all The Gwendy Dolls into Cannin Fodder Gwendy's for Reinforcements into The Commando Elites Army as Joe Dante inserting his Personal Perverted Sexual Fantasies into a children's film

@@RedEyeReviews I actually think The Gremlins movies 1&2 and Inner Space are his ABSOLUTE BEST, but Small Soldiers is also up there. Personally Joe Dante's MANUM OPUS HIS ULTIMATE MASTERPIECE IS INNERSPACE. If I had to pick which of his movies is #1

@@RedEyeReviews Your VHS copy of Small Soldiers must not have been as good as mine. Or mabey your VCR'S weren't as good as the ones I've owned Because I practically watched Small Soldiers every day along with a couple of other favorites like BatMan VS Mr Freeze SubZero, and Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, and those are just other movies released in 1998 I must have watched those movies hundreds if not thousands of times. Still have The VHS's for BatMan VS Mr Freeze SubZero and Scooby Doo on Zombie Island

1:09 - They had to change the REAL names of these characters (it was in a story by the Wapo) Turns out this part was the inspiration for 'The Metaverse' by Zuckerberg.. cant find the link now but its out there like Xfiles..

you didnt mention starship trooper anothre brilliant anti war satire very similar in that it was kinda taken seriously as a cheesy action film
